Holiday started Monday, dh says in the morning, just popping into work for half an hour before we go.

2 hours later...
Still no dh

Ds and I are ready and raring to go, ring dh to see what's happening, he says I got caught up on a job, can you go ahead and I'll come along later??

Fuming doesn't even begin to cover it

Aibu?

Go without him

missiondecision · 19/05/2017 21:02

Yep go without him. He can catch you up.

UrsulaPandress · 19/05/2017 21:03

It's Friday.

kezzy13 · 19/05/2017 21:03

Go without him, have the BEST time, make more plans without him and teach him a fucking lesson.
Make sure you and ds have a fabulous time and talk of nothing else but what you did, and how you laughed and how many lollies you had and how much he has missed.

Let it be very clear that he is opting out and is being a twat.

ghostyslovesheets · 19/05/2017 21:07

do you work OP?

Can't have been much of a holiday if you have been fuming for the whole time

buntingqueen · 19/05/2017 21:08

It depends on what job he does and whether he has a choice really. My DH works crazy hours and misses out on a lot. It does upset me, but it upsets him too, and if he didn't do this stuff, he would lose his job. I would love him to put his family first, but it's not as black and white as that. I don't know if your situation is different though. If he is choosing to go to work when it isn't necessary, then YANBU.

LagunaBubbles · 19/05/2017 21:09

What does he do? Is it the type of job this would happen in?

kezzy13 · 19/05/2017 21:30

Yes I do work but only part time
Holiday was pretty shit but ds enjoyed it which is the main thing

He's an electrical engineer, his boss is his stepdad and its just the two of them in the company, he could have not gone but he felt guilty about going away (even though stepdad went away the week before)

Just getting fed up of feeling like we are always second best

Probably being stupid

No, you're not being stupid.
I can understand your position.

My husband doesn't switch off from work.
Work comes before family and I feel low down his list of priorities.
Feel for you Flowers

ThisIsStartingToBoreMe · 19/05/2017 21:45

You should come before work.

Yes, if you've got kids then obviously then come first - but you're next!!!!! Not the job/golf/in-laws

He sounds like he just doesn't want to engage in family life because he finds it dull
