Because most of them are not necessary and too try hard. Then the thread fills up with 'great diagram' posts.

Most of them tend to say in the title that there's a diagram, though. Then you know that thread's not for you.

They really help with the parking threads though, you really need a visual aid for those.

Sometimes they are useful, but yes I agree that some diagrams are definitely a waste of space.

No they're totally stupid. Especially so with all the subsequent posts asking for a bloody diagram if one isn't provided. Some people just get completely over invested.

YABU they are a necessity on parking threads.

They are very useful for parking posts. How else would we know how terrible it was that car A is parked 3 feet over the dropped curb which is perpendicular to the neighbour's drive but on a higher level than OP's house but the bollards are on an angle and the front garden is 2 feet at one end at 5 at the apex, with car B overlapping the path slightly and C rocking gently on it's roof.

I love a good diagram

I especially like the ones with colour keys and small pictures of angry/sad stick people.

I don't care if that makes me shallow either

I automatically presume that reality has been modified to prove the OP isn't being U, so they're quite helpful for that...
