to insist on vegetarian hot chocolate?

OK, so, we're at the end of summer down here in the southern hemisphere and the nights are getting chilly, and after supper last night, DH kindly made us each a cup of hot chocolate.

With ants.

So I spent quite a long time stirring, waiting for the bodies to rise, fishing them out with a spoon, and feeling disappointed.

DH: "It's not as if they're poisonous or anything".

I know that... it's just... errrghh.

Am I being unreasonable in demanding hot chocolate without tiny corpses in it?

Reminds me of the time DH left a box of Cheezels (sp?) - like wotsits, I suppose - down at the side of the sofa overnight when we lived in Oz.

Next evening sits down with beer, puts hand down into box and troughs handful of snack which tickles his mouth.....

Box was full of ants....

SueW, what did he do next??? Bet he didn't say "Oh, well, it's not as if they're poisonous" and keep crunching...

I think the ants got into the tin sometime during the summer (I do remember seeing ants about a couple of months ago).

I also think it might be a good idea to feed the remaining hot chocolate powder to the chickens who will very excited and will view the ants as a tasty bonus.

Don't feed the hot chocolate powder to the chickens as chocolate is poisonous to many animals/birds.

The ants are okay and represent extra protein.
