Just that really, it's annoying me more than it should Angry

OP posts:
TwatteryFlowers · 17/05/2017 20:10

Probably because they know it's annoying and are hoping to get a rise/see a thread like this.

PortiaCastis · 17/05/2017 20:11

Because whoever does it is a prize twat and should be ignored

AfunaMbatata · 17/05/2017 20:14

Oh dear, I've helped them achieve their goal?! For shame on me!!

Seriously I just don't get what they get out of it, very strange..

'Twas ever thus.

Sparklingbrook · 17/05/2017 20:18

They think they are funny. Then they get to watch and laugh while everyone berates a long gone OP from 2012 or before.

Then people argue that 'on other forums' it's totally the done thing to resurrect dead threads from years ago and they can't see what the problem is. Hmm

But at least I get to post this Grin

AIBU to wonder why some weirdo keeps bumping zombie threads?
BIWI · 17/05/2017 20:20

Is it always the same poster?

JigglyTuff · 17/05/2017 20:21

Who knows BIWI? Personally I can't tell one User2316546541321 from another

Sparklingbrook · 17/05/2017 20:22

There was one over the weekend where the same poster went around reanimating stuff.

What I have noticed is that it's more often than not the really long AIBU threads that get reanimated, you don't really get a thread with four posts on suddenly revived.

SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun · 17/05/2017 20:24

I did this when I joined mumsnet in 2004. It was because I googled the subject, found a relevant thread and didn't look at the dates. As a newbie I didn't know about Zombue threads and was shy to start one of my own.

amysmummy12345 · 17/05/2017 20:25

Unless its the pushchair thread it's just not funny 😆

Boophis · 17/05/2017 22:54

I've heard about the fabled pushchair thread... anyone got link to it?

Alisvolatpropiis · 17/05/2017 22:57

I've been here about 5 years and have still not seen the pushchair thread!

Lukeandlorelai4Ever · 17/05/2017 23:01

Oooh what's the pushchair thread?!

DioneTheDiabolist · 17/05/2017 23:06

Because a long time ago they formed the belief that any attention is good attention.Sad

5foot5 · 17/05/2017 23:20

A couple of weeks ago I started a thread on Site Stuff asking if zombie threads could be clearly highlighted in some way at the top of the thread.

Mumsnet's initial response was that they had removed the zombie symbol as it was "off putting to newbies" and they had no plans to reinstate it.

After quite a few other posters came on to express their exasperation they modified this to "we will pass on your comments but don't hold your breath" and eventually when even more posters commented they implied they were looking in to it.

So you never know....

ExplodedCloud · 17/05/2017 23:26

The pushchair thread was something like:
OP (in 2008) "Can anybody tell if this pushchair is any good?"
Next post in 2010 "Yes it's fine"
Thirds post 10 minutes later "Oh ffs. I answered my own question. I'm the OP"

amysmummy12345 · 17/05/2017 23:29

I think the pushchair thread it's in classics... Title something like "best stroller to take on holiday"

CheeseQueen · 17/05/2017 23:41

Haha, I remember seeing the pushchair one a while back. Brilliant!! Grin
Basically somebody asked if a certain type of pushchair was any good.
A few years later, OP came back and talked to her past self and told her it was good Grin

LatinForTelly · 17/05/2017 23:45

...and her username was something echo Grin

amysmummy12345 · 19/05/2017 15:21

Ecco I think?

FreyBentosMondays · 07/08/2017 16:50

I've noticed Lazarus bumping a few

notreallythere · 07/08/2017 16:52

Lazarus? Well, good username for it.

roundtable · 07/08/2017 16:53

And you have revived one too i think FrayBento or should I say lazarus Grin

frieda909 · 07/08/2017 16:53

This one is from May... oh the irony!

roundtable · 07/08/2017 16:55

Grin exactly. I think someone is on a name change that relates to a zombie thread they bumped earlier today.
