Neighbours carers park over my drive

BoysaDearyMe · 12/05/2017 21:42

AIBU to be itritated that neighbours carers regularly park over my drive?

I live semi rurally, large development where every house has a drive with space for 2/3 cars - very rarely does anyone park in the actual street.

Next door has a succession of carers who regularly park over my drive, preventing me getting out. There's room in neighbours drive for the carers to park or a vast length of space on the road, away from blocking people's drive. They seem to prefer parking over my drive!

Only twice I've had to ask them to move as, having waited, they were making me late for work. I never say or do anything if I'm not going out.

So, is my irritation unnecessary?

Have a nice word with your neighbor
If that doesn't work, do the carers work for an agency, if so contact the agency

rollonthesummer · 12/05/2017 21:49

Do all of the things Synyster suggests. But take a photo of the car first, just to show us Grin

GeillisTheWitch · 12/05/2017 21:51

Ask them to move every single time whether you're going out or not. If it inconveniences them they'll soon learn to park properly in the first place.

c3pu · 12/05/2017 21:51

Diagram or it didn't happen.

wictional · 12/05/2017 22:26

Is your neighbour Nicholas? Grin

bruffin · 12/05/2017 22:27

Was going to say this sounds familiar wictional

justkeepswimmingg · 12/05/2017 23:15

Woo hoo, sounds like a nicholarse and cuntaline story all over again Grin ..
Oh how I've missed parking threads!

Yvetteballs · 12/05/2017 23:19

Why are they doing it?

PenguinOfDoom · 12/05/2017 23:25

Ask them not to park there, every time.

What is this sudden obsession with diagrams and photos?

ASDismynormality · 12/05/2017 23:27

Ask them to move every time.

This.

What is this sudden obsession with diagrams and photos?

People think it's funny. It's cliquey and tedious.

BoysaDearyMe · 12/05/2017 23:46

Thanks all, it's very rarely the same carers. I've only seen be same car / people a few times - although I'm not always in when they are there as I work so much.
Why do they do it? Sheer laziness. No valid reason, seriously there's so many other places to legitimately park.

Neighbour and my drive are side by side, with fence in between. Room for 2/3 cars in each. Neighbours drive usually completely empty when they block me in, plus the entire street also empty.
Neighbours quite new, and I don't know them.

Will start to ask them to move more frequently, hoping that they'll start to be more considerate

SynysterGates · 12/05/2017 23:48

if its not the same carers its is most likely an agency
so ask the name of agency and complain

Shootfirstaskquestionslater · 12/05/2017 23:49

speak to your neighbourgh about it and if they carry on doing it just get their cars towed away that'll learn em am joking by the way every time they park over your drive just ask them to move they'll soon get the message.

FoxyRoxy · 12/05/2017 23:56

Are you sure your neighbour isn't called Nicholas Grin

I'd ask them to move even if you're not going out. Every single time. Yanbu to think they shouldn't be parking over your drive!

birdladyfromhomealone · 13/05/2017 01:19

OMG this just sounds the same as my neighbours who's carers parked on our drive for over three years when our drive was empty. Our neighbour Nicholas told his employee and his carers they could park on our drive drive when it was empty from 10 til 4pm and we didn't find out out for ages although the other neighbours knew what was going on for ages. It then turned out they were were MNetters and accused me of making it up. Be very careful of who your neighbours are!!! Our house is rented out but I stili check to make ure our neighbours are not parking on "our" drive that we are maintaining.

TheMaddHugger · 13/05/2017 03:46

birdladyfromhomealone the Mnetters did what ???😨.

I remember your post but missed he ending.

TheMaddHugger · 13/05/2017 03:49

BoysaDearyMe
Can you put up a sign that says no parking over driveway ?
((((Hugs))))
I grew up across from a school, so I understand the frustration

scaryclown · 13/05/2017 04:13

What, Tarco or Tahcoah

UnbornMortificado · 13/05/2017 04:14

Could be timekeeping related instead of laziness.

Doesn't excuse what they are doing (and I never have) but a lot of home carers aren't given adequate time to both make calls and travel between them.

instrifeagain · 13/05/2017 04:25

Personally, I block the drive of the person being cared for, not their neighbour! As a pp said, ask one of them which agency they work for - then contact them to complain.

bloodymaria · 13/05/2017 04:58

What, Tarco or Tahcoah What does that mean?

Crashbangwhatausername · 13/05/2017 05:27

Try asking the neighbours first

justkeepswimmingg · 13/05/2017 08:40

Birdladyfromhome.. I must have missed that part of the thread! Hopefully the entitled bastards stay off your drive in future!
