DS getting stinky armpits. Can he use something like one of the shower gels which contain silver to control it? currently uses a kids all in one shampoo and shower gel but isn't effective enough. Thinking this will worsen in warmer weather

My DD uses pitrok roll in which seems quite effective- more a deodorant than an anti perspirant.

I think you'll struggle to control it with just a shower gel.

steff13 · 07/05/2017 19:05

It sounds like he's ready for deodorant.

Oldraver · 07/05/2017 19:08

Yep, sounds like he needs to be taking more care re personal hygeine.

If you're not wanting him to use too many chemicals there is a kids deodorant

TheTurnOfTheScrew · 07/05/2017 19:17

Dd1 is 10 and needs deodorant. She has a bionsen one which seems to have fewer chemicals in than some.

HighwayDragon1 · 07/05/2017 19:19

What's wrong with deodorant?

TheFlyingFauxPas · 07/05/2017 19:20

I agree time to get the antiperspirant out. His teacher will thank you for it. I used to help out at ds's school and the room used to get a bit whiffy as the temp rose.

dementedpixie · 07/05/2017 19:25

My ds uses antiperspirant as deodorants just mask odour

DickHair73 · 07/05/2017 19:26

DS is 10, and has been using BLAST from www.wekeepitkind.com/uk/ for ages now (Sainsbury's, Amazon, Waitrose all stock). It's fine. I think he goes through phases - sometimes he stinks and sometimes he doesn't!

Hulder · 07/05/2017 19:27

Shower gel won't work - the whole point of it is that you wash it off.

scrabble1 · 07/05/2017 19:28

I use Bionsen so will try him with that. Thanks everyone
