Bird poop is taking over my life!

I'm looking for some recommendations for bird repellents (there's so many to choose from!) as there has been a huge influx of ginormous pigeons move into our area and they are making an absolute mess of the garden, cars, outside of the house (windows and doors), even the wheelie bins and fences are covered.

My son is autistic and his greatest pleasure is playing in the garden and his trampoline but it does make me worry that's he's going to get ill if he comes into contact with droppings.

I'm not a nature hater by any means but living with this volume of poo is not at all normal and seems to be getting worse. Posting here for practical help as the gardening board seems very pro-birds, eek!

There's loads in the area and it's not making a difference, thanks

You know how when people have a giant spider in their house & people say burn the place down & move somewhere else? Yeah this would have to be my approach with pigeons 😱
My absolute worst nightmare so even though you're not phobic like me I can definitely sympathise!

Do those high pitched noise emitters work for birds? I'm sure I read recently that by so but someone else might be able to correct me

I've lived in my house for 18 years and it's only recently the pigeons (and crows who have now moved on) ave moved in.

They are a bloody menace, their shit is enormous and gets everywhere...I have moved the trampoline twice but the buggers still get at it

I think a hawk or eagle statue is supposed to work as they're afraid of them.

OH has just come in to iron his overalls (why?) and has moaned about pigeon shit on the leg.

I did say that the tree needed trimming. Think a couple of branches my now be felled... hopefully

pigeons are vermins, you can get companies to put traps and try to get rid of them, and put spikes so they can't land on your house.

We had the same problem when an old building nearby was put down, and all the pigeons who were living there peacefully had to relocate.

Airports use birds of prey, but you would have to adopt one or two full time for them to be efficient. Good luck, there are just as bad as rats!

You can get plastic owls and cats to scare them off.
