Why am I so awkward

Just in a crowded bar with colleagues and a random asked me to get his friends' attention. I'm quite a naturally anxious person so panicked a bit and - in a bid to get her attention - I meant to tap her but unfortunately ended up MASSAGING her back a couple of times. The girl I'm with found it hilarious; the girl who had it done to her looked a bit disgusted! It's funny but why can't I just be normal?!

Everyone always comments on how cheerful and bubbly I am though. Sometimes my anxiety just gets the better of me though

I hate being put on the spot like that, I would have done something equally daft!

Obviously I know it's not an unreasonable thing for him to have asked, but still I would have felt panicked which is really stupid!

Yep another socially awkward one here. I get anxious, my mind literally goes blank and something ridiculous flies out my mouth. I laugh too loud and say rude things aswell for some reason ConfusedI think I'm actually pretty normal but my brain just freezes. I actually have quite a responsible job which I find astonishing.
If however your anxiety is becoming a problem and affecting your life choices you could try CBT. Your GP can refer you to talking therapies.
.....Anyway what is normal!?! Sounds over rated.
