I'm not sure if I am being U to propose this or not or even if I have a keg to stand on so thought I'd ask you lovely lot.
So we moved into our current property last July and since moving in there have been several maintenance issues - we have sorted most ourselves but the 'major' ones we were advised not too.
Toilet flush in the en suite didn't work reported in August and because the agent and landlord faffed so much it wasn't fixed till December. This was mainly because our landlord wanted to take out a homecare policy rather than pay a contractor and we had to wait till he had set it up. I was pregnant at the time so whilst we had another toilet in the house it was still a faff and annoying that they didn't seem to care.
Latest issue is that the oven has stopped working, looking at it the element has gone as just blows our cold air.
Reported it in April and it is STILL not fixed. I have kept a diary of all the calls and emails I've made to chase them. I was told on first call that it is under warranty and to call them. However on explaining we do not have the warranty in the property the landlord then took 3 weeks to say he had it at his house. Last week I called the branch manager and was promised a call back in Friday - no call so we were yet again without an oven over the bank holiday.
Yesterday i get a call asking if it has been fixed yet
on explaining that no it hasn't they says they will look into it. I have emailed a complaint to their head office and it now seems I am stuck in some 'process' and waiting to talk to a supervisor....but they will not tell me when I can expect it to be fixed......
Other than getting it sorted myself and deducting amount from next months rent what can I do?! WIBU to deduct it?/can I?!
