I visit our local hospital regularly - often weekly with our children. It has a one way system and if you get into it you cannot get out of it...often you get into it and if the car park is full (usually it is..one in, one out) then you are basically waiting in the one way system for however long....
so I avoid entering the hospital and park on the street and walk in.
the streets around the hospital are parking permit only - or you can park with a disabled blue badge - which we have. You'd think thats easy yes....
No - the residents don't like anyone parking outside their houses, and several of them use cones to stop you parking there.
So today i got to the nearest street, found a space, double parked, got out, moved the cones - placed them next to their wall, got back in the car and parked in the space. Opened the boot, got chair out, got child in, got toddler out, got scooter out, got handbag out, meanwhile nextdoors builder watched and then said - oh love are you visiting the house, I smiled and say no, and carry on....he then says oh you can't move the cones.....I smile and say oh - I just did.....and carry on...he says they are waiting for a delivery and need the space left. I said oh sorry they can't reserve the space - they can use their driveway for the delivery, anyone with a permit or a disabled badge can park here - (smile through gritted teeth as i try to buckle child in etc).....he says you shouldn't really move their cones...
so i say look - i'm here every week trying to park - you can see its a struggle, i'm sorry they are having a delivery but its an offensive to obstruct the highway.....if its a problem don't buy a house next to a huge teaching hospital - so he looks at me and says the houses were here before the hospital love....and walks off!
i was so irritated.....i left my phone in the car, got halfway to entrance and had to walk back....grrr
when i returned after 2.5 hours and got in the car ready to go - he said very loudly - i'll put the cones back then......
