So I was wondering around a shop today looking for a mother's day gift and DS (7 months) was kicking off abit, he was overtired and overstimulated. So to try to get him to sleep I picked him up for a little cuddle when said shop assistant helpfully pointed out 'Oh, that's the worst thing you can do when they're like that'

This really annoyed me!! Especially as she kept on talking to me and told me she had no kids!!!

So am I being unreasonable????

KathyMCMLXXII · 13/03/2007 18:25

Yes, shop assistants all have to have 15 years experience as maternity nurses - didn't you know?

danceswithaSPRINGinherstep · 13/03/2007 18:26

I think you should ignore fish face and her giant spoon.

LittleHarrysMum · 13/03/2007 18:26

That may be true but I did object to hearing her life story, especially her telling me about her friends mother passing away and all about the funeral when all I wanted was some chocolates.

Plus she HAD to tell me what toys I should give him to settle him.........

not unreasonable, though I'd love a little chat with a shop assistant, for once!

Oh life is full of people who talk sh*t, It's very annoying but happens all the time.

LittleHarrysMum · 13/03/2007 18:40

Very true Kitty! I was so annoyed I had to cheer myself up by having a great big spend up on new clothes

Good for you!!

Caligula · 13/03/2007 18:44

Yes.

Get used to every fucker you ever come across telling you how to look after your baby.

Depending on what mood you're in, it's either very funny or very irritating how very opinionated people who don't have kids are, about bringing up kids! (Some of them even write books about it.)

edam · 13/03/2007 18:47

Good point, Caligula...

To the OP, it is irritating (or sometimes funny) - just think how stupid she'll feel when she has children, looking back at her pre-child self dishing out daft advice.
