To feel like I'm not doing well at anything

It is just me? I work 4 days a week in a busy job that I love but I constantly feel like I'm not doing very well due to just been knackered all the time! I have 2 dc, one of which is not a good sleeper so I'm up probably 3 or 4 nights a week and never really catch up on sleep properly. My constant brain fog means I struggle to remember stuff, have decent conversations and my work is suffering as I just don't feel 'with it' most of the time! I can't afford to cut my hours at work. At home I'm just chasing my tail keeping up with school stuff/washing/meal planning/shopping etc. Any advice?

Do you have a DP? If so could you feign a business trip and just check into a hotel for a few days to sleep?

Oh god, are you me?! I'm a lone parent, work full time in compressed hours (so feel like I'm bodging that) run my own business (I've abandoned it lately) and my house feels like a never ending pit of time. I miss ds. I just want to pause life, but I can't :( sorry, no advice - just a hug from a fellow messer-upper!

ME TOO...sleep deprived, brain fog, compressed hours here which I am winging, forget to do things which I cant afford to do here, house is a constant mess, don't feel on top of anything, ds1 and ds2 extremely challenging, DH works every wkd and i only see him a a few of the nights in the week. Dont have a spare minute to myself, when I am at work I am very busy then home for the kids.

Your post is me.

I look around and feel everyone is getting on in life and on top of things. I totally don't feel 'with it' either and wonder sometimes if there is an actual issue.

Ladies - what do we do?

I know that not with it feeling all too well blueflowers. Trying to help dcs with their homework and it feels as difficult as my uni work because I couldn't focus. Topped off with bone-deep exhaustion.

I was absolutely on my arse with exhaustion no matter how much/little/good/bad sleep I got. My head felt like it was stuffed with cotton wool. The GP sent me for a blood test which showed up very low vitamin D levels and prescribed very high strength vitamin D, a friend recommended high strength omega 3 as well.

I was amazed at the difference they made. Within two weeks I had so much more energy and the fuzzy head was all but gone. Even going on a weekend scout camp with 5 hours sleep in 3 days didn't leave me as exhausted as I was before.

I didn't believe the GP when she said vitamin D could be the cause of all my symptoms but it was. I've since told a few friends and my dad who had similar symptoms of exhaustion to see the GP and they were all vitamin D deficient.

I was the same and blood tests discovered I had very low Vit B12 levels - I get regular injections of B12 now but to be honest, I'm still knackered a lot of the time. If B12 deficiency isn't caught early, it can cause permanent neurological damage so it's sensible to get checked out.

Thanks everyone. Even when I have a run of good nights I'm still exhausted so I'll go to the doctors and see if there's any underlying cause. Going to try and sort some time for myself as well. Hope you all feel better soon too.

I'm so tired, I can't remember NCing to make this post. But I must have done...

You sound just like meFlowers My situation is very similar and the sleep deprivation whilst working 4 days is exhausting. Do you have anyone who can help out in anyway?
