A very important point. Fillon and the French right didn't capitulate to Le Pen like DC Republicans did to Trump.

Sorry, can´t find an English language link, but Alexeï Pouchkov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs in Russia, reacted by saying that the French will be disappointed by Macron. Very quickly disappointed.

I have this vision of 45 tossing and turning in bed of a night, trying to avoid the eye of the Spectre Of Obama sitting on the end of his bed. Funny how these despairing tweets all seem to be about breakfast time. You might almost think they pour out after a sleepless night!
