Sciatica? Back? Help!

Not unreasonable at all but need a bit of advice.
I think I have sciatica or something. It's like the worst back pain ever all in my left thigh. It really hurts. I can't stand upright or walk properly. Or sleep.

I have a tens somewhere from a previous evil pained back. I'll dig it out shortly. Ibuprofen and paracetamol isn't touching it. Nor naproxen. I need something bigger (but allergic to opioids).

Oh god you poor thing. Been there. Private physio was the answer for me.

(As an aside, love your username - Jodi Taylor?)

Empathy here. My pain is better now while I wait for my op but after 60mg X 4 dihydrocodeine, 5mg X 2 diazepam, full dose paracetamol and 500mg X 2 naproxen... I was pacing a&e up and down for an hour and got oramorph in triage Flowers
If you can, get a thermacare heat wrap, it's the back and lower hip one. Honestly I was deranged with pain and it helped massively

It's very painful - so sorry OP. Aside painkillers, your GP could tell you if you have a slipped disc or any other underlying causes.
A good physio should help, as well as a good sports massage to alleviate pressure in your muscles.
Hope you get better soon x

If it's sciatica they may prescribe muscle relaxants, I used to suffer awfully and the GP was always reluctant to prescribe anything effective in case it made me drowsy as I had a child to look after. Despite me having DH around at night (I couldn't physically get out of bed fast enough to deal with a crying child because of the pain) and me finding it hard to care for a child when I couldn't sit on the floor, carry him up stairs or run after him. I've now changed GP!
