Just read an article in today's paper, I am confused. A journalist spoken to voters in the north east. They voted leave, they can't stand Corbyn, they don't like the current state of labour and believe they will ruin the country but yet they will still vote labour in the election. I just don't get it !

I'll be voting labour. I don't particularly like corbyn, nor do I think labour is anywhere near at its best. However I strongly believe them to be the best of a bad bunch.

I've noticed that, but apparently some people quite like their local Labour MP candidate and so are just basing their vote on that, rather than voting for Corbyn, although the thing is they are in effect voting for a Labour government lead by Corbyn.

I don't much like the state of the labour party at the moment but will still be voting for them, partly because I genuinely like my labour MP on local issues, but also because I don't want the tories gaining seats.

IMHO, Corbyn is a waste of space and the Labour Party (nationally) is in a right mess. But my local MP (Labour) is phenomenal and I'm voting for her.

I wouldn't vote Tory for a million quid. Plus, I (really really) hope that Corbyn will be out on his ear days after the GE. I'd love to see Labour start to rebuild voter confidence with a new leader.

You have to vote for the party you feel is closest matched to your thinking.
I'm old enough to have been voting for decades, and always vote, but I don't think I've ever agreed with every policy, or every 'stance' promised by any one party - I have to vote for the party I think will do the most good with the majority of issues. Doesn't mean I don't ever disagree strongly with some things said by the party I vote for.

I feel so sorry for good labour MPs up and down the country who will loose their seats after the election.

I am a Labour Party member but won't be voting labour with Corbyn, Abbott and Thornbury at the helm.

I guess the locals have a great labour MP. Mine is Tory and we live in a strong Tory area so not conflicted there.

I live in the north east. I voted remain. I cried at the Brexit result and I am still angry. But I'm a democrat and leave was the result. I will be voting Labour, as I always do. I'm a socialist and couldn't vote for the tories if my life depended on it. I voted for new Labour even though I didn't agree with all their policies, and didn't like some of their decisions. But overall, I want a fairer society. I hope that Labour supporters will remember we are a broad church with principles at our core.

I believe you should base your vote on getting the best person for your constituency rather than the party they represent. If we all did that we'd have a parliament full of decent candidates and whichever party was in power they should be able to find a decent leader amongst them.

So the other parties should put up a credible candidate against Corbyn - so voters have a choice.
