its actually quite hideous. he is not a beardy man at all. and it annoys me. dd1 dislikes it as its orange. its not even ginger, its bright orange, i swear it glows in the dark.

misdee that's hilarious!!¬

Katy44 · 11/03/2007 12:45

I recently posted asking how to convince my dh to shave his beard off.
So no - IMO you aren't being unreasonable!

misdee · 11/03/2007 12:46

he says he wants to grow it till it looks good in a photo (ie never!!!) then says he will shave it down to a moustache. but he looks like ian beal with a tashe.

misdee · 11/03/2007 12:57

OP posts:
zippitippitoes · 11/03/2007 13:01

misdee · 11/03/2007 13:05

Katy44 · 11/03/2007 13:10

definitely - and if you need tips on how to convince him I'll let you know what worked for me!

Katy44 · 11/03/2007 13:10

eek that 'definitely' was to you asking whether he should shave it off - I wasn't agreeing he looked like a pimp

3andnomore · 11/03/2007 13:16

rofl...lol....you are defiantely NOT unreasonable...well, or if you are unreasonable, then so am I....dh had a beard for a while (due to his job at the time, and him wanting to make a point...he is in the army so, they usually are not allowed to have beards, but the job he did at the time meant historically those soldiers always had beards, therefor are allowed them...), anyway, it really put me off him, and in the end I won an he lost the beard again....apparently he is growing one again right now, whilest out there in Afghanistan, but he better get rid of it quickly before he comes home...
Oddly, his beard is gingery orange, too...although, my dh is actually an ashy blond...no idea how that one works...

SparklyGothKat · 11/03/2007 19:45

It tis a bit er.............. orange!!!

WanderingTrolley · 11/03/2007 19:47

"Never trust a man,
Be he father or brother,
Whose hair is one colour
And beard is another."

misdee - midnight raid with Immac the only way to go.

3andnomore · 11/03/2007 19:56

WT oh that is sooooooooooo funny, must send that bit to dh, lol...he will see the joke

misdee · 12/03/2007 10:10

lol!

the beard is still there.

dd1 handed him his electric razor yesterday and told him to shave the beard off. he refused.
i think he should've shaved it for dd1 birthday last week, that would have been a good rpessie for her

robbosmum · 12/03/2007 11:02

rofl..... say the neard or sex? He will have it off quicker than ........a quick thing.....

robbosmum · 12/03/2007 11:03

haha should have been beard?

kittylette · 12/03/2007 11:10

i have the same problem

i dont mind a bit of stubble - in fact i prefer it to completely clean shaven, but DP has a beard and wont get rid of it - its starting to curl

plus he shaved his head last night and not he looks like Mr. T

misdee · 12/03/2007 11:55

lol dh shaves his head as well.

if only i could say beard or sex, but we rarely have sex, so the beard would win.

Try the hygiene aspect - overplay the amount of food that gets stuck in it.
Or forget all self-respect and cry and beg - that worked for me!

HappyDaddy · 12/03/2007 13:03

Wait til he goes to sleep and shave it off for him. He'll be secretly grateful that he no longer looks like Grizzly Adams.

Or FingerBobs.

misdee · 14/03/2007 19:52

its gone

hoooray!!!

OP posts:
Katy44 · 14/03/2007 20:21

Congratulations! What convinced him in the end?

misdee · 14/03/2007 20:22

boredom lol.

LowFatMilkshake · 14/03/2007 20:27

This is hysterical - what made him get rid of it?

I must be in a minority - I am constantly plaguing (sp) DH to grow a beard. He's not quite the same build but I love the hairy men in the epic films like Troy, King Arthur, Lord of The Rong and KIngdom of Heaven etc etc. Him growing a beard would be one step closer to my fantasy!

....just got to get him on a horse and hold a big sword in his hand! drool

Katy44 · 14/03/2007 20:36

You'll change your mind when it's ginger - it seems they all are (my DH has very dark brown hair)

BTW I'm ginger, so am allowed to ginger-bash!
