This FB group discussion.

AIBU too be shocked at how many "ladies" have commented on this with their own "funny" story.

AIBU to think if this was a discussion started by men it would be jumped on pretty quickly?

Attaching more pictures so multiple posts!

No they wouldn't. Men are always threatening violence against women on social media and nothing happens to them. Women can even report a dangerous man to the police and then receive a caution themselves for wasting police time (and then get their throat slashed and killed by said man later).
I'm not saying this isn't a horrific Facebook post but let's not make out all the poor men are victimised as it's total bullshit.

How exactly are you finding those screenshots if not from the page a PP linked, OP? I can't find the FB page/group in question.

Spidermum89 · 20/04/2017 18:58

Quentin Just because violence towards men happens less doesn't make it any less serious when it does happen. So no it's not bullshit if the victim is a man. It's not a male victim's fault if somewhere in the world a woman was cautioned for "wasting police time". That is the police's tragic error, and not a reason to shrug male victims off.

Those women are vile and sound a bit unhinged if I'm honest.

QuentinSummers · 20/04/2017 19:09

So no it's not bullshit if the victim is a man.
Sorry I phrased that badly. Of course violence against men isn't bullshit. What kungfu posted about a double standard and men being pounced on by police is bullshit. When I referred to "poor men" I meant these entirely fictitious "poor men"being arrested for posting misogyny on the Internet. I realised when I read it back that it was really misleading Grin probably going to know receive pages of flaming for being a man hater Confused

HerBluebiro · 20/04/2017 19:13

Makes me feel physically sick to read. I despise how violence is celebrated. Even if all false why would anyone boast like that?

And look at me, hoping it is false. Knowing still that such things happen. At least one woman reports the police taking it seriously and charging her.

Spidermum89 · 20/04/2017 19:17

Oooh sorry. Blush I get you now.

LastGirlOnTheLeft · 20/04/2017 19:20

I wish people would stop pretending that if men were to post vile stuff about women, everyone would be up in arms! They WOULDN'T! Men write disgusting stuff about women every damn day and no one bats an eyelid.

Unlike on this occasion, where women say vile stuff about men and we women all share our feelings on how horrendous it is. Something I NEVER see men do about women being targeted.

Men get away with murder against women - women are abused on the net in a way men simply aren't, and it is insulting to assume people are more angry about that that this. It's a lie.

It does happen but gloating about it is just Shock

I know a man who, when his wife caught him cheating, took a sledgehammer to his collarbone Shock

TizzyDongue · 20/04/2017 19:31

Today 18:17 Meekonsandwich: Erm what the funk. I can't imagine what would happen if these women were men. Would they be shut down for hate speech and arrested for abuse??

I think this is what QuentinSummers is calling bullshit on, Spidermum89. The idea that women get away with this behaviour and any man writing like this would result in their arrest. Completely fictional thinking; the internet is full of men threatening and discussion with glee about violence on women, they are not being arrested.

KungFuPandaWorksOut16 · 20/04/2017 19:35

dixie Because the discussion got vetoed when it started hitting headlines, it didn't just hit the page quentin posted.

OP posts:
TizzyDongue · 20/04/2017 19:35

Oh and pointing out that it actually does occur and is tolerated from men, somehow gets turned into a person thinking domestic violence against men is nothing news worthy.

QuentinSummers · 20/04/2017 19:42

The page I posted was the first to report it kung. It then appears to have been picked up by mainstream media (ie daily mail) which says a lot about their agenda and sources.
the DM also spoke to the mods who said the thread was only up briefly and removed immediately mods saw it and all contributors banned

Where it came from and who published it isn't my point though.

Expect more women are actually suffering at the hands of abusive men though.

Interesting that these comments were made.

TizzyDongue · 21/04/2017 05:25

made mostly in response to the claim if it were men making the comments, in the OP, that there'd be uproar/arrests not^ in defense of the violent comments.

Assuming your 'interesting' is an attempt to make out how so many of us think violence against men is funny or acceptable (or whatever other way you are hinting at).

Kwoggers · 21/04/2017 05:33

No, I don't think anyone thinks it's funny or acceptable (or no one has said so anyway) but that whilst some people are surprised that anti-feminist websites exist, when a thread about DV with male victims is written, it's full of 'poor women' and 'men are violent' comments.

TizzyDongue · 21/04/2017 05:41

I'll try again: The comments you copied and pasted where made mostly in response to the claim if it were men making the comments, that there'd be uproar/arrests NOT about male victims.

Have you ever read comments (outside of MN) on something about DV with female victims?

QuentinSummers · 21/04/2017 08:35

Nice misquotation of twizzy there kwoggers I always love it when posters list a massive load of quotes totally out of context to support a point noone was actually making

befuddledgardener · 21/04/2017 08:40

very disfunctional

TizzyDongue · 21/04/2017 08:52

QuentinSummers I hadn't even cottoned on that that last quote kwoggers listed was supposed to be mine! It was so out of context I didn't recognise it!!!

scaryclown · 22/04/2017 14:47

Well i remember a girl from uni, and a girl locally who"s attitude to men and partners is like this, they view the world as always being in a latent fight with them that they have to win, but not in a careers way, in a 'you have to attack people all the time so you don't lose against them.

The girl at uni used to find out what her partner liked and then break it up, eg particular mugs, plants etc. Horrible to think that now these one off crazies are all able to talk to each other and normalize it.

Pariswhenitdrizzles · 22/04/2017 14:49

This is awful Shock

I'm wondering how much of this is true, and how much of it is (as a previous poster suggested) about 'fantasies' that they haven't acted on?

scaryclown · 22/04/2017 14:51

I agree though that much of the 'normal' internet and Twitter is men saying vile things about women. Here though it looks like the are actually acting it out.

I don't doubt for a second there are similar sites for/by men. I think that's to divert the issue. This is shitty however the 'other side' are playing.

Worse thing is though if i read it in the voice of our local shitty estates accent, i can hear it as realistic for far too many people
