Randomly wanted to watch it and it's an 18, I was very surprised by what I remember of it.

Having watched it, I mean it's pretty violent still not sure it's an 18

Isn't it about a barber who slaughters his clients and makes them into pies?? Hardly U or PG material!

Pinkandwhiteblossoms · 20/04/2017 07:44

It's the scene where Helena Bonham Carter is burned alive that does it. The rest of the story is quite nice really.

ShatnersWig · 20/04/2017 07:45

Awful film of one of the best musicals ever written

Willow2017 · 20/04/2017 07:53

He slits people's throats on the Barber chair! They eat people. Hardly a U.

OnionKnight · 20/04/2017 07:56

Well there is a lot of slit throats with arterial spray and HBC is burned alive, hardly a PG.

MovingtoParadise · 20/04/2017 08:17

It's very, very graphic. Much more violent that your average 15. I had to look away on multiple occasions.

LouisevilleLlama · 20/04/2017 13:11

To wasn't thinking U more 15

BBFC says: Several scenes depict customer's throats being slit with a razor. These scenes are generally shown in close up, sometimes in an extremely gory and bloody manner.

It's the close-up and lingering on the detail which pushes it to 18. Logan is far more violent and shabby, but no extended shots, hence 15.

I love Sweeney Todd. Some people are just too sensitive 🙄
