Our bigly armada is...somewhere! Watch out, gentleman! Trump cont..

As the armada appears in waters nowhere near where it was said to be, Trump blusters on in his usual dignified, courtly manner. Easter weekend had us worried about nuclear strikes; DT put a fair bit of work into his golf swing. Business as usual! Carry on, everyone!

That sounds about right as I'm quite doubtful about those people hacking on behalf of Russia.

I find Mensch interesting and think she has done some good work, but I tend to read and then wait a bit. I also find it worth doing a bit of digging when she gets personal. I think she tends to lash out and jumps to conclusions based on some pretty vague evidence when she takes against someone.

I have noticed on a number of occasions that she tends to go off on accusatory rants against people who do not 100% agree with her. She had a day of shouting about Seth Abramson, which got really quite unpleasant a while ago. I took a look back through his tweets and saw he had written a thread starting '(THREAD) Did former UK MP Louise Mensch just break #Russiagate wide open? I earnestly hope she did, but here's a major reason to doubt it. t.co/DmzYWsxl2F'

Her attacks on him (where she paste tweets out of context rather then linking to the full thread) and then retweeting of her followers jumping on the band waggon was really rather out of proportion to him being pretty complimentary, but maybe disagreeing on some things and maybe having a different view on others. I found the way she handled it was unpleasant enough that i came very close to unfollowing her.

In short, i think she gets some stuff right, but that doesn't mean she is a nice person and should be believed just because she says so Hmm

CaveMum · 20/04/2017 08:06

Thanks for the good wishes folks. We're doing ok though chronic lack of sleep! Was a quick labour if a bit traumatic at the end with him getting a bit stuck but all's well that ends well.

Will try to catch up properly on the goings on, but I'm afraid to confirm that Donald was not on our short-list of names. Sad.

Mensch is/was a MNer, of course... Not sure that helps us interpret her one way or the other!

TheClaws · 20/04/2017 08:26

Bigly agree about Louise's Mensch. I find her feed irritating as it's mostly attacks on others, and those attacks are rarely justified. I have unfollowed her as I just didn't want to see her vitriol any more.

I had no idea! I shall wait with baited breath for the tweets accusing all large badgers of being covert Russian spies Grin

"I do not believe that health care is a basic human right."

I choked on my toast!

Also I come back to: Mensch is Murdoch's creature.

Murdoch, who we know from Leveson and the Parliamentary Enquiries likes to be editorially involved in his newspapers.

Murdoch, whose Sun has just run headlines like "The Sun says Crush the EU Saboteurs, PM. The Brexit saboteurs of the Commons and Lords must be faced down and crushed."
twitter.com/sanglesey/status/854580175530594305

Murdoch, whose paper(s?) used private investigators in dodgy, arm's-length "self-employed" arrangements, rather than investigative journalists. So the actually illegal stuff like phone hacking was deniable.

BiglyBadgers · 20/04/2017 08:57

Oh I've just seen Mensch has now gone for The Jester, accusing him of being a Russia hacker, is this what your were referring to natsku? Interesting as they were bestest Twitter buds for a while.

Congratulations Cavemum and welcome to the world Cavebaby Thanks

TheClaws · 20/04/2017 09:07

That's why I've unfollowed her Bigly. I think she's lost some rational sight of things. Jester can be cryptic, but usually right on the money.

Calls for referendum annulment rise in Turkey
Allegations of fraud in Turkey’s April 16 referendum show no signs of abating despite government denials that any irregularity occurred.

Not the Jester bigly but a couple of guys who are friends with my brother, one is Jake Davis who she is calling out personally at the moment, rather rudely too!

GingerIvy · 20/04/2017 11:06

I don't think Ivanka Trump is being played at all. I think she is right up to her neck involved in this as is her husband, right along with her father. There is absolutely no way that she is not. I think she has a bit more self awareness in that she can cover herself a bit more with a fake public persona, but that ultimately she still has some blind spots - but now that she is garnering more publicity, those blind spots are being pointed out much more widely.

CaveMum · 20/04/2017 11:20

Just seen this on Facebook!

Our bigly armada is...somewhere! Watch out, gentleman! Trump cont..
cozietoesie · 20/04/2017 12:21

I wasn't suggesting that she wasn't involved, Ginger. Just that she's used to being a cub, gambolling around and being gently 'cuffed' if she misbehaved. Unfortunately, she never made the transition to grown beast so she's largely unequipped for the games she's playing now. Imagine how she'd do without the 'grownups' around to indulge her. Wink

cozietoesie · 20/04/2017 12:23

I use the term 'grownups' .......advisedly. Grin
