Extremeley noisy neighbours

This is seriously cheesing me off,next door neighbours child does nothing,goes nowhere,will stand outside bouncing a ball all day, all you hear is bang bang bang, then she will invite children from across the road who constantly scream,winge,cry yell at the top of their voice and this is every single day, seriously cannot hear the telly they are that loud.

Yesterday took the biscuit, the mother of the child next door thought it was ok for the child to howl like a dog at the top of her voice for an hour.

What do I do?

Have you tried, gently, telling them in a "I'm sure you haven't realised but ...." kind of way. I had to tell my new upstairs neighbour we could hear him and his lady friend 'at it'. We were both mortified but I was nice and apologetic about it.

Twice I have, the trouble is they are all sen which my son is too, but they are that loud they set my son off. Now the loudness is not because of the sen I have worked with enough sen children to know this. My son also has extremley sensitive hearing which makes him kick off when they are screaming, they do not talk they scream.

I am not looking forward to the summer it will drive me demented, as it did last summer.

She's not doing nothing, she's playing outside with her friends.

If it's too noisy (like the howling for example), just go out and ask her nicely to quieten down a bit.

Worra, its extremley loud, that loud I cannot hear the tv, I have spoken to them twice. Yelling screetching, crying, its constant.

What do their parents say?

Absolutely nothing and its aboslutely every day, its like yesterday the one that was howling like a dog at the top of her voice,you would have though mother would have taken her in,but no!

That is why I am dreading summer coming,there will be no peace what so ever.

No, I meant what do the parents say, when you mention the kids are so noisy you can't hear your TV and they're upsetting your son?

You might have worked with children with various needs but as you know no two children with the same diagnosis will have the same presentation. So to rule out the loudness as having any connection to SEN is naive.

My son has Hypercussis which means sensitivitey to noise, when they screetch it can cause him to meltdown, cause him to be constantly anxious, there is no need for the children to be this loud. When i say something to the parents they go quiet then it starts over again the next day.

CommonSenseIsNotAllThatCommon, they are that loud because their mum spent years yelling at them.

Get your son ear defenders
Get out of the house as much as possible
Look into moving house or creating an internal soundproof room
If the ball is annoying get them a swingball set or badminton

They are not partying til 5am, they are local kids playing outside. You need work arounds not resentment. You are all in the same boat.

Talk to the council. Record the noise, if they think it's excessive they may intervene.

So they're SEN and making noises. Perhaps that's the only way they communicate. Perhaps the parents are so exhausted looking after them that they switch off to the noise they make? My son is SEN and very noisy. He has no other form of communication, no speech, makaton, anything. If someone was to tell me he was too noisy I would tell them to fuck off!! Have some empathy ffs. You have a DC with SEN so you should have some understanding of the issues.

sillypussy, they can communicate, they are out there now and they are being quiet, they dont use pecs or makaton, I wish you could see and hear then you would know.
