When saying I need to lose weight.

I'm a size 14 bottom and 12 sometimes 10 on top. Not massive but I am overweight.

I just don't get why it wouldn't suit me to be a healthy weight Hmm

People are actually trying to be nice - it's a cack handed way of saying you look nice as you are.

I'm sure they wouldn't say it if they knew you were so offended Confusedm

I wouldn't discuss my weight to be honest

If I wanted to lose some, I'd just get on with it.

I think a lot of people feel insecure about theirs and therefore end up projecting, onto others.

Who is saying this? A controlling partner or friends who don't want you to be skinnier than them?
Weird and judgy I think.

IHaveBrilloHair · 13/04/2017 18:18

I'd say it's either people saying you don't need to, or people trying to shut down that conversation as hearing people go on about weight is really tedious.
Sorry.

People say it wouldn't suit me to lose my last stone ... but it would. So tell them to fuck off, they've no idea what would suit you and everyone looks better a healthy weight. They just want to demotivated you in MO

I think you're being a bit naive here. Most people, most of the time, won't want to purposefully make you feel like shit. Losing weight is no easy task for most people.
When you mention that you'd like to lose weight it sends some people into 'compliment compensation' mode. Just don't say anything and get on with losing weight.
N.B when you start showing signs of losing don't be discouraged by those that think just because you've lost 5lbs means you are now skin and bones.
Weightloss talk tends to send some people insane.

It means they can't imagine you thinner. Not your problem. They'll get used to it.
