Posting here for quick response - 4 year old DD complaining of feeling cold and tired earlier, has been asleep for over and hour and a half and is difficult to wake.

Should I be worried? No temp or anything else.

Yes, i would worry and dial 111 for advice

She keeps waking and going back to sleep, sometimes looks like she is asleep with her eyes open!

Do call 111 now.

Insist if they don't give you an appointment with an out of hour doctor / medical center of some kind.

Hope he's ok, but worth checking now!

abcBears · 12/04/2017 17:41

*hope She is ok (sorry)

My 5 year old did just this last week. He fell asleep at 5pm and I just couldn't wake him so put him in bed. The next day he came down with a cold. However, good advice to ring 111 if you are worried.

Agree. Because dc is four they'll almost certainly tell you to take to surgery/ hospital. Listlessness, excessive sleepiness, not being alert, check for all of those. Tell them about hydration and Boris and how long thus has gone on. Hope ok.

OrlandaFuriosa · 12/04/2017 17:44

*Boris? Fgs no!!!! Bowels, a much more civilised subject,

Lukeandlorelai4Ever · 12/04/2017 23:08

How is he now? Hope all ok

Lukeandlorelai4Ever · 12/04/2017 23:08

Sorry she

It's usually a sign in our house that our very hyper and vigilant child is about to come down with a cold or stomach upset. Very noticeable change in their usual presentation but never resulted in anything alarming.

Small did this just before easter break then a few days later came down with strep throat.

OkPedro · 13/04/2017 01:08

rollon how is your dd now?

DancingLedge · 13/04/2017 01:08

Cold and difficult to wake, please ring OOHrs or 111

Rollonbedtime7pm · 13/04/2017 08:15

Thanks all - she woke up eventually and said she felt a bit better.

She went to bed soon after and was sick early this morning. I actually went to bed feeling rough so we're obviously incubating some bugs... great! Happy holiday! Grin

Ah, at least nothing to serious, hope it passes soon!

My DS is like this when he is v poorly. The dr told me being sleepy itself wasn't a problem it's only if you literally can't rouse them and they are unresponsive. When I'm poorly I just want to sleep it off, this sounds the same. Having said that, you will know in your gut if something is wrong. Hope she feels better soon x
