Sauna, naked or wearing a swimsuit?

Inspired by the conversation about the NDN sunbating topless Nd underlying attitude to nKedness.

To start. We prefer to go naked as they do in Austria, which means we don't go to saunas in the UK. It is interesting the notoces say "for health reasons, no swimsuits". Though to be fair, Austrian saunas are much much hotter than UK ones which also say the same notice.

I've been in a steam room this afternoon. Not a sign of Lycra or whatever swimwear is made of these days. All naked. Mainly men, just four women. If there was an orgy or a bout of swinging, it happened after I left (dammit).

There was a naked lady in my gym sauna the other week which is unusual. I wasn't bothered but maybe would have preferred she sat on a towel which she didn't. Also could have done without the legs akimbo moisturising.

Some people in the virgin gym in Islington used to go in naked. It was ALWAYS letchy men over the age of 50. I stopped using it.

Dh and I have our own sauna and I just wrap a towel around me when I go in with friends. Dh and his mates always go in naked. I caught an eyeful of our best friend's parts the other week. Childish as hell but I giggled for days. (He's quite fit so can't look at him without blushing now BlushGrin)

I always go nekkid at the Porchester Centre. I've noticed that a lot of the younger women keep their costumes on throughout whereas the oldies tend to let it all hang out, or just wear pyjama bottoms. There's one very old lady who saunas naked except for a woolly hat.
It's still pretty reasonable, I think, compared with most spas.

It's probably a sauna hat. I want one. They're Russian and all the ones I've found online had odd stuff written on them. The worst one being - I ❤️ sex

I live close to this place - nude in saunas, swimsuits in pools. It's great, who wants to sweat in their swimsuit.

You need to go to the beautiful Turkish baths in Harrogate. All naked there when I last went (but towels kept wrapped around). It's a wonderful place - absolutely stunning building.

It's really, really not about the swimsuit getting sweat soaked, it's that your skin is covered with a costume which is most-likely made of plastic, so your skin effectively sweats into plastic. [Shudder]

Porchester spa is closed for redevelopment and will presumably end up being a lot more expensive when it reopens.

A gazillion years ago when I was a member of a Virgin Active gym they had saunas in the changing room. People usually went in in the buff with a towel.

I don't think you could actually have sex in a sauna... not at least a proper hot one. The temprature would seem to be part of the hygene. Hot enough to kill any bacteria.

I'm a member of a swimming club in Glasgow. All week I do like everyone and wear a swimming costume in the sauna but on a Sunday evening it is all naked in the sauna, pool and steam room. titianlove can find such places here.

Never been in a sauna, don't think I'd like the heat. Naked, or otherwise wouldn't bother me.

I'm getting on a bit now, so public nudity bothers me less than it did in my younger days. I wouldn't mind a naked sauna with random strangers, but the idea of being in one with my (Dutch) in laws is horrific!
