To think he should have stopped being sick by now?

Sorry I'm shamelessly posting another incantation of an earlier thread. Not a TAAT though

As an emetophobe I have no sense of perspective either (am extremely anxious and I've never suffered anxiety before)

4yo is almost 12h into a sickness bug and he is still being sick. Will it go on much longer???

I know, we've been lucky to get this far without a proper full in bug (we've had sickness but not like this!!) we have had our fair share of other nasties though Scarlet Fever last month

DP is at work, I'm so stressed. When will it stop?

Fuck I guess we are all going to get it???

I can last a few days. Is child able to use a bucket/bowl or get to the toilet, or is it going everywhere?

My kids all get it differently though. Some recover after half a day, sometimes still being sick the next day.

A few days? A's in he could be actually vomiting for a few days

He is an absolute dream of a patient and despite the first (massive) lot all over the bed he's been using a bowl bless him.

He isn't bringing up much now. Poor sod, but it's been pretty constant. He is asking for water (good) but can't keep it down (bad)

I am a wreck. Hopefully I'm hiding it though. I have been there the whole time, rubbing his back, cuddling and cleaning.

Little sips of fluid, not normal amounts of fluids.

Some of the nastier bugs can go for a week or more. Normally vomiting stops after 12 to 24 hours but DD once threw up for 11 solid days with Norovirus.

You won't necessarily all get it. Keep your hygiene standards up, hand washing etc and you might not catch it.

My DD had a horrendous D&V bug recently which was going round the school like wild fire. None of us caught it, not evven her twin brother.

Definitely a few days. And he's being really kind to you - when DD has bugs, she often doesn't feel very unwell. So she's around the house playing, then vomits in situ over whatever she's playing with at the time. Not to mention the sofa, carpet etc...

You may well not get it. I haven't had any of DD's vomiting bugs (though I do get her colds).

Sips of water every so often, not glasses of water. Use a teaspoon. My son was sick for about 24 hrs and didn't eat anything for nearly 3 days.

Lollies are good for hydration.

We're just having sips of water through a straw and then puking it back up

It's coming up to 13 hours now and barring a few 1h naps it's been constant.

DC2 has been napping for over 3 hours as well
