RSPCA canvassers knocking on door

RSPCA charity canvassers were in my road earlier on today. At about lunchtime they knocked on my door and I ignored it, they then knocked again at about 6.30, again I ignored and they have now just knocked again at 8.15pm and woken the DC's up Angry, my DD is autistic and she had just dropped off to sleep. She's now downstairs, wide awake AngryAngryAngry

I'm so annoyed, it's so selfish and intrusive. AIBU?

Why not just answer the door the first time and say no Thankyou. They wouldn't have knocked on a further two times.

And they want a tenner a month signed up there and then. Don't let them in.

YANBU! 8.15 is far too late. I hope you get some sleep tonight.

Kung fu - why should I answer the door? I'm under no obligation to tell them 'no thank you' Totally disagree with this form of 'fundraising' Angry

Kung why should she have to engage with these people to stop them knocking well after small children's bedtime.

Get a sign for your door saying no cold callers then just point at it silently if they still knock.

Twats.

I hope they don't come here. I've been buying cheaper cat food recently, and I bet my cat would be delighted to air her grievances with them.

Might complain tomorrow, or might ring them this eve, seeing as I'm in for a long night

kate engage with these people? Seriously. Sounds a bit snobby that.

knackered you are correct, you shouldn't have too tell them no, but it would have taken literally 10 seconds to politely send them on their way.

Kufu - They shouldn't be knocking on people's doors in the first place. I was working and busy. It's intrusive and should be banned.

Are you on my road???? I had someone from the RSPCA at lunch time and I've literally just told the same one to go away again.
Like you the bell has woken my daughter, luckily she's gone straight back to sleep. They are very annoying, I know he's trying to earn a living but he saw I had young children when he called at lunch time so why he thought calling at this time would be ok I don't know.

HATE this kind of fundraising. Makes me really uncomfortable.

Agree - put up a sign saying "no cold callers". If you're not going to answer the door to anyone unexpected, then it'll just save you time and they won't knock. Very simple.

RSPCA are on a mission to piss people off it seems. Aggressive tactics do not work

What exactly do they do? How much does the CEO earn?

Once a day is enough and 8.15pm is too late IMO. Can you put a sign by your door saying "no canvassing please" or words to that effect.

Yes I should get a sign but I've just got a new lovely door and I didn't want to stick anything on it. Might have too

When a chugger knocked on my mom's door at nearly 8pm, she called 101 as she couldn't believe a legitimate charity would be calling at that hour (she's elderly and goes to bed pretty early herself!)

I don't like this kind of fundraising either. Preys on the vulnerable imo.
