To feel annoyed by this colleague?

I work a rotating shift pattern. I'd been invited to a hen night on Saturday when I should have been working. I wasn't that bothered about going, but I asked a colleague if she was free, and could she swap shifts with me. She said this was fine. I was under the impression that it suited her too. She did Saturday night and I did her shift on Sunday night. Yesterday, she e mailed me to say that her husband had been called into work, and she had used a babysitter which had cost her £30. She sent me her bank details. I have transferred the money. But, had she told me this on Saturday, I'd just have done my original shift myself since.
AIBU to find this a bit rude and odd?

YANBU! Why on earth did you pay? That's just one of those things that happens - not your problem he got called into work! I am constantly astonished on here at the number of people who think the world owes them everything. Not your fault/problem and I can't believe the neck of your colleague asking you to pay!

Very rude. If her offer to swap was conditional on your funding any possible babysitting charges, she should have said so at the time.

It became hers the minute she agreed to do it.

She'd already agreed to swap, and didn't tell you beforehand that anything had changed, so you weren't given the option of saying you'd do your normal shift or anything. You are not responsible for her husband's work, and if she knew there was a chance of him being called in, she should have mentioned that in the initial discussions. You are not responsible for them having needed a babysitter.

Now that you have given in to her, please watch out for her escalating this sort of nonsense. If she feels you are a soft touch, she'll try and get more out of you.

I would keep my distance from her and obviously never get involved with swapping shifts with her again. Even if SHE asks you to swap as a favour. She'll somehow twist it round that it cost her money again.

Even if her husband was called in to work that's not your problem. As it is, it could just be a complete fabrication with no proof.

She is a cheeky cow you should have told her to jog on. At the very least she should have discussed it with you first if at all possible.
