AIBU to think that if you own a dog you should not take it for a walk in one of these! Smile

I have a ring sling for when I've got a new puppy that needs socialising but can't yet go on the ground. Gets a few second glances but it easier than carrying a hairy puppy everywhere.

My dogs would kick off big time if I tried to put them in a sling like the one in the picture.

Grin Wish

That is hilarious. I could imagine my Mam using one for her precious pooch.

Actually saw one of these in action a few weekends ago. (The dog wasn't a puppy) and it looked stupid & uncomfortable.

Perhaps they're used by people whose dogs can't walk very far (old age, issues with legs etc.) but would benefit from being taken to a park etc. i.e. the owner carries them there and then the dog gets to wander around enjoying self before being carried back home? Otherwise all they'd get is a short walk on the pavement close to home.
Admittedly they don't look very comfortable and I can't see my dog in one but...

ellencherry · 27/03/2017 11:38

Would it need to be in a nappy as well?

TheWitTank · 27/03/2017 11:40

That can't be comfy for the dog, surely?! My two would have a fit! Then again, I would look ridiculous with a huge, long legged lurcher dangling from my back.

justgivemethepinot · 27/03/2017 11:57

Hmmm my dog is 40kg and stands taller than me on hind legs, can't see that working but it will give everyone else a giggle I suppose Grin

I actually considered making some sort of dog sling last year! When one dog was a young pup and I had an older dog with me needing a long walk, I used to take pup and let him have his short walk, then pop him in a basket or a back pack for the rest of the walk. If I just had the pup, I wouldn't have needed it, but I wasn't going to walk for 10 minutes, turn around, drop pup off home, then go back out with older dog!
