DH is a massive Liverpool fan and he went to the Champions League final in Istanbul two years ago and it cost £1,000! This on top of going to the Carling Cup final that year plus his season ticket every year (£600) and he has to take time off work. And it is not enough to just fly out for the game and then fly straight back, him and his mate have to go the day before and come back the day after or it is "too tiring" otherwise. I thought after drawing Barcelona in the last 16 this year they were bound to get knocked out but they take a 2-1 lead into tonight's second leg and I really want them to lose so there is no chance he will be going to the final this year which is in Athens. He will be pretty naffed off if they lose tonight but he is pretty reasonable and keeps it in perspective. The other reason I don't want them to win is cos I am a Man City fan, have been watching them for 18 years and all I have had is a trip to the Second Division and back. No cups, no glory - it is not fair! I know it is unreasonable but I just get naffed off when our money gets spent on him having a great time following his team - without me!
