We are being led down the path by TM who is now propsing to simply adopt every EU regulation, statute and Law wholesale.

We are beset by EU allergies directives, EU waste directives, EU working time directives, EU this EU that EeU fisheres directives...... We were told we can be a sovereign country if we leave the EU.

We were not told we will have to adopt every EU law wholesale.. We don't have to adopt them. We can and should create laws that meet our needs not paper pushers in Brussels.

Yes it's terribly sad that we are going to keep these directives which have been encompassed into our laws that

• keep our beaches clean
• provide us with safe water
• give a decent amount of maternity leave
• provide for any paternity leave
• Look after the very special wildlife areas
• make sure that people work safe hours
• get people to recycle more and landfill less
• make sure consultation on new laws is meaningful

-ensure copyright is respected

I assume you voted for Brexit? There wasn't a plan, so she can't be betraying you. As long as Brexit goes ahead. This is what happens when you campaign on the basis of soundbite rather than a clear plan. Incidentally do you feel betrayed, for example, about the lies told by Johnson and Gove regarding the 350 million a week that we could divert to the NHS?

What are the bad EU regulations and directives (they don't do laws, national parliaments do) that you want to get rid of and why?

I'm sure all these laws/regulations will be tinkered with in due course, probably to water them down to suit people like the OP who don't care about protecting the environment etc.

However, there is not enough time in the two years before we leave the EU to go through them all and decide which bits to keep and which to jettison. So the plan, I believe, is to adopt them all now and fiddle around with them later.

Not defending her as I despise the woman but she's made it clear we initially adopt everything and parliament can pick and choose later on what bits to get rid of. Given the government we have I assume they'll be getting rid of a lot of good stuff.

Ha ha, sucker. You thought you were getting your country back. It was never your country in the first place. It belongs to the rich. Some of the more racist ones decided to hold a referendum, in which you kindly did their bidding. Now the less racist tendency have prevailed because the currency's unstable. A joke can go too far, especially when it endangers the money.

Have you any idea how long Brexit would take if we had to unravel these directives before leaving? Also, if we want to continue to trade with the EU we will have to abide by many of the directives anyway, and rightly so.

We should definitely bring back good old fashioned British laws and get rid of all that namby pamby EU rubbish stuff.

We want to get rid of that silly Equality stuff so hotels and employers can once again say "No Blacks and No Irish". Women should be paid less than men, of course.

Still waiting to know what laws are so bad, specifically, and why.

I'm genuinely baffled by how people thought this would go any other way... especially for laws that could impact trade. However, I am still concerned about Maternity rights.

I continue to be utterly amazed at the level of ignorance about leaving the EU. So many seem to have the mantra 'we must leave right now and drop all of their laws', do these people have no idea how economics and governance works? We can't just press some big 'reset button' on the country to take us back to the 'good old days' .

Sorry, just realised that was about the European Convention of Human Rights, but it's a similar principle.

Is this serious? So you don't agree with the EU directives that keep our carbon emissions low? Bodies of water clean? Working time directives? (Do you work?) health and safety in products we use at home that protect our health and reduces hazards of children and babies?

Which means having to negotiate the best trade deal with the most beneficial terms to the UK (haha, good luck with that)

In order to trade with the EU markets, it's highly unlikely that said markets are going to compromise on the health and safety standards that would be required for countries trading in the common market. Why would they? It's not in their interest to give Britain a deal that's favourable to us on any level. Why would they want to compromise the safety standards on goods to be sold to their consumers just because Britain doesn't like EU regulations?

Or are they gonna say, yeah sure Britain, set your own more lax safety standards for the goods you want to sell to us, why not?

TM wants the best possible deal for Britain (which is unquestionably going to be a worse deal than we currently have). Why on earth would that deal allow us to drop standards on health and safety just because we don't fancy playing by everyone else's rules?

OP maybe you forgot to read the white paper where TM states UK always had full control of its own laws and brexit voters acted on their "feelings".

But to be fair this info was freely available online if you'd chosen to research the issue prior to the referendum. The UK has been instrumental in developing and waving through the vast majority of these laws.

So, moving on, your best bet would be to focus on saving money to pay for your children's private healthcare, private education and to offset the impact of their generation waiting to age 70+ for a state pension. That's what you actually voted for...

I'm sure they'll thank you for it.
