I'm all on board with a wide range of biscuits but can't get my head around jaffa cakes or slices of cake. Is it just me? My friend will dunk anything going and i find it odd

I fully agree!

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface · 18/03/2017 21:39

I think dunking anything is absurd.

It's disrespectful to both the tea and the biscuit.

Charley50 · 18/03/2017 21:43

It's fucking weird. Biscuits yes. Jaffa cakes. No way Jose!

dimdommilpot · 18/03/2017 21:44

It is. You are right.

MrsMoastyToasty · 18/03/2017 21:48

It is weird. The clue is in the name. It's a cake, not a biscuit. You wouldn't dunk a piece of battenburg or dundee cake in tea.

TizzyDongue · 18/03/2017 21:50

I think dunking anything is absurd.

Completely agree KingJoffreysRestingCuntface; dunking should be criminalised!!!

Mynestisfullofempty · 18/03/2017 21:52

I agree with KingJoffreysRestingCuntface too. I also think dunking anything is absurd.

PatMullins · 18/03/2017 21:53

...just me then Blush

haveacupoftea · 18/03/2017 21:55

I can dunk them, prefer to eat a few entire packet in one sitting dry though with tea on the side.

Porpoiselife · 18/03/2017 22:02

No!!! You can't dunk a Jaffa Shock Madness!

Bluesrunthegame · 18/03/2017 22:06

Jaffas can certainly be dunked. They live in the biscuit tin, so must expect the same treatment as everyone else that lives there. Actual cake, fruit cake, sponge cake etc, no, can never be dunked.

I think Jaffas were only classed as biscuits as some sort of VAT avoidance plot. They are clearly of the biscuit clan, so can be dunked. At which point they become even lovelier.

WashBasketsAreUs · 18/03/2017 22:12

I dunk jaffa cakes x

Mummabear14 · 18/03/2017 22:12

I dunk Jaffa cakes! Wink

hellokittymania · 18/03/2017 22:13

Definitely no that's an insult to both cakes and Tea! The only time I will dunk anything is if the biscuits are hard enough to break your teeth

CaoNiMartacus · 18/03/2017 22:13

Sacrilege!

justdontevenfuckingstart · 18/03/2017 22:15

I hate dunkers. DD2 comes home from uni and I think I miss her but NO cos she's a dunker and they don't finish their tea because there's sloppy bits of biscuit in the last mouthful.

Glossolalia · 18/03/2017 22:16

Jaffa CAKES. Shouldn't be dunked. They are cakes. That kind of behaviour is just vulgar.

Bluntness100 · 18/03/2017 22:18

It's deeply unreasonable to not dunk jaffa cakes,,,all that melting chocolate goodness. You're depriving the Jaffa cake of reaching its full potential.

Totally unreasonable,😁

SometimesMyMumComesOutMyMouth · 18/03/2017 22:21

I'm a dunker. Currently dunking cookies into my tea. I wouldn't ever dunk anything other than a sturdy biscuit which a Jaffa cake is not.
On another note my FIL dunks his toast soldiers in his tea... WTAF?!

justdontevenfuckingstart · 18/03/2017 22:29

Soldiers only dunk dippy eggs! Everyone knows that.Who are these people????

EdmundCleverClogs · 18/03/2017 22:32

I've been known to dunk a Jaffa Cake. They aren't (sorry!) moist like other cakes, so hold their shape after. Plus it makes the orange extra 'tangy', and the chocolate lovely and gooey.

I'm weird about Jaffas though, I can only eat them in twos, it gives me irrational rage seeing anyone eating them as singles....

EdmundCleverClogs · 18/03/2017 22:33

I also dunk buttery bread in tea. I may have issues.

SeparatedByMotorways · 18/03/2017 22:35

It quickly goes off onto a tangent but this comes up in a recent ep of the Philosopher's Arms podcast. Worth a listen if only for that part. Definitely not just you. It's weird and wrong.

ILikeGreenBananas · 18/03/2017 22:40

Weird and wrong.

Everyone knows the only acceptable way to eat one is by nibbling all the corner, peeling apart the cake, picking the chocolate of the jelly bit and eating that last.
