And if so, what is it like?

Ex teacher here, used to working with troubled kids and their families.

Do any social workers enjoy theit jobs?

I'm a Social worker having qualified in my early 30's and I mainly love it. I've been qualified about ten years now.

It's hard to explain "what it's like" as the roles completely differ from team to team/different local authorities, adults/children's services etc.

I've worked in a number of roles mainly in child protection and specialist therapeutic teams.

It's hard going I have to say, and not for the faint hearted. It's highly demanding work in all aspects! I do generally enjoy my work though! PM me if you want any further info. :-)
