Meerkat Toys

Well I got my car insurance renewal £454. I drive a small family car, have driven for quite a while (!) and have a lot of no claims, but it is that high as I have my 20yr old dd as a named driver and she only passed her test just over 2 years ago. The quote is less than last year so I was reasonably happy with it.

There was an advert on the TV for the meerkat toys and my dd asked me if I would consider going with them. So I put in my details for a quote and was quite shocked when I saw the cheapest quotes.

Do they really expect me to pay that much just for a meerkat toy???

I got mine from there for £200. Confused

TheSnowFairy · 02/03/2017 21:08

They were cheaper for me too.

HappyFlappy · 02/03/2017 21:10

And for me *and I have two meerkats now and as one is a boy (the biker) and one is a girl (the teacher) I'm hoping to breed them.

Grin

We have the one with glasses and he chose to be a single dad by choice! (Oleg, is ot?)

Crispbutty · 02/03/2017 21:18

My Oleg didn't arrive Sad

OpalFruitsMarathonsandSpira · 02/03/2017 21:19

Sad it takes about 3 months.

Elsa is selling for about £30 on eBay. So torn to sell or add to dd's collection!?

Topseyt · 02/03/2017 21:20

Mine took about three months to arrive. It can take a long time.

That was three years ago.

EssentialHummus · 02/03/2017 21:20

I have three now. I'm married to a Russian IT specialist called Sergei who finds the whole concept hilarious.

Vanillaradio · 02/03/2017 21:27

Currently awaiting my third version of baby Oleg and got my home insurance for £150 less than my own one quoted. I love Meerkats!

lazyarse123 · 02/03/2017 21:59

I found them cheaper too. They sent me Oleg when I had requested the rocker. I emailed them and sent Oleg back and they sent me the one I had requested plus another Oleg. I now have five (I gave the spare Oleg to a friends granddaughter). I just love them.

PlymouthMaid1 · 02/03/2017 21:59

I have all of the except the Frozen ones which will be next... I have car, pet and home insurance. Consulting the meercat always gets me cheaper prices. Some people don't realise that you have to claim them once you have bought the insurance.

AlmostAJillSandwich · 02/03/2017 22:02

My dad has all but the new frozen ones, and he wants the whole set. Will be ebaying them for his birthday

OpalFruitsMarathonsandSpira · 03/03/2017 04:58

PlymouthMaid1 claiming for the Frozen ones stops today. Sad I think that's why the eBay is so much for selling a free gift!

DorisDay88 · 03/03/2017 05:44

I've had great deals with them plus bogof cinema tickets for a year

maddiemookins16mum · 03/03/2017 06:30

We have three and always get a great quote from them!!

wannabestressfree · 03/03/2017 06:32

We have loads. If she wasn't bothered which one she had I could send one?

ladymariner · 03/03/2017 06:42

Never mind the toys, what about the 2:1 cinema tickets Star they were cheaper by far for car insurance last year but not this, but best for pet insurance. My Mum got my zebra-suited Oleg, says he matches her car!! Grin

starving · 03/03/2017 16:52

DD wants a frozen one but for more than £10K I think I will either resort to ebay or tell her she is too old!! They are cute though.

ALemonyPea · 03/03/2017 16:55

That's a crazy price!

We got our car insurance for over half price less than our then current providers renewal quote came in at. Still waiting for Oleg though.

OpalFruitsMarathonsandSpira · 04/03/2017 16:18

I'm so over invested here! Grin I just can't believe you haven't made a typo or other mistake. No one pays £10,000 for a years car insurance, surely (unless you own Chris Evan's collection, maybe!)

PlymouthMaid1 · 06/03/2017 13:21

Ah thanks Opal - not that bothered as I don't really like the Frozen ones (OK my granddaughter might like them but they are mine, all mine). The Frozen ones weren't around for long then were they? I like the Batman one.

Oldraver · 06/03/2017 13:39

I used them yesterday as I was on a mission to find the cheapest quote possible (old car not worth anything, I only want to be legal). It came out at £98 ish Grin

I am a member of a FB group for our make of cars and one lad just passed his test has been quoted £7,000 a year Shock

We have one of the robots we got a few years ago
