Take your children too and that solves your other problems - no school and they can scavenge for food from your client's houses.

seb1 · 02/03/2007 20:19

Cod then you can stop feeling guilty about not working

colditz · 02/03/2007 20:20

foxtrot · 02/03/2007 20:29

DeviousDaffodil · 02/03/2007 20:49

Get on with it and stop bloody moaning.

Monkeytrousers · 02/03/2007 20:50

Well if you were a single mother you'd have to and thats exactly what you'll soon be if you don't clean up this midden you harpy!

OrmIrian · 02/03/2007 20:54

If you are at home you should do more housework. For a start you are physically at home so you've got a headstart - try cleaning the house from the office...it doesn't work. Secondly sorry, but caring for kids doesn't take every moment of 9/10 hours a day - unless you want a spotless house it is possible to do both. And if your partner is away from home all day why shouldn't he spend his home time doing things with the kids? Not fair to be out at work and then have to get down and dirty with a mop instead of playing with the children or reading stories. Beleive me I woh and do most of the housework (due to DH's working hours largely) and it seriously p*sses me off.

However if you can afford it get a cleaner. Ditto gardener, laundress, anything else you can afford to outsource. I would if I could .

BarbieLovesKen · 02/03/2007 20:59

use the time you normally spend mumsnetting to clean, thats at least 5 hours a day

kittypants · 02/03/2007 21:02

oh!

Tutter · 02/03/2007 21:02

ormirian what a lot of nonsense

OrmIrian · 02/03/2007 21:05

No kitty. Not entirely. I've seen this pov posited as a serious argument - I'm doing an important job of rearing children so I haven't got time to do anything else. I personally think that's crap. I have managed to do all three for years. DH does stuff but not as much and not as often.

OrmIrian · 02/03/2007 21:06

tutter - why? Elucidate please.....

codswallop · 02/03/2007 21:06
