Blooming neighbours' parcels

This is a first-world problem, I know. But if ordering online, couldn't you organise a time when you're in or send to a post office collection point. I'm happy to help normally, but this is getting on my nerves.
Neighbours seem to shop online a lot, but are never in, so then it all descends on me. Then they don't freaking well come and get it until I ask them. One time had three large boxes from Japan to trip over in hall.
Now have expensive printer. Any takers?

It's not a big deal to take a few parcels in unless of course said parcels are literally the size of a small house!

Don't accept them. It's that simple. They will get a note from postman.

If it's bothering you a lot, then you could just say no to the parcels, especially if you're going to be tripping over them in the hall? In terms of them coming round to collect from you - they might not realise when you have them. I felt awful because I ordered a huge treadmill recently, thought it hadn't arrived, only to discover it had been sitting in my neighbour's hall for several days!

We work full time so are very rarely in when parcels are delivered. I'm more than happy to collect from post office but postie always takes to neighbours even if we've put a note on order asking for it to be taken to depot or similar. We've put a bin outside so sometimes parcels get put under that. Luckily we have lovely neighbours though who don't mind and we always do the same for them

I've stopped taking them for one neighbour. Most of my neighbours I absolutely don't mind taking parcels for because it's reciprocal. One has a business he runs from home, but he's always out. He gets 3/4 deliveries per day and actually told the drivers (he seems to order from the same place most days) that I was a SAHM/on ML. One day I had 10 knocks on the door when I was dealing with a poorly newborn and I just had enough.

I also got fed up with the expectation that we'd take parcels to him. I only take parcels on the agreement that the driver puts a card through with my door number on it, I've seen them post them yet some neighbours still seem to think I should deliver. Sod that.

The odd parcel is fine. Pisstakers using neighbours as a depot are rude.

I'm usually at home so can get delivery companies asking me to take parcels in; sometimes it does my head in but nobody takes the piss. Apart from the other day when a company wanted me to take in a neighbour's door! My house is tiny and I have small dc, there's just no way. He was really pissed off with me.

Sometimes it can be frustrating if you ask them to leave it in your safe place, but they want to give it to a neighbour instead.

That's annoying. It"s not a 'big deal' to sign for the odd parcel but some people take the piss. Just don't answer the door, or say you're about to go away for a few days.

I work from home and often take in parcels. They did try and deliver a parcel for a neighbour who for many reasons do not want her to have a reason to knock on my door so refused, but said I won't be around for her to collect it. I also refused to have a toilet delivered for my very nice neighbour as I don't have room to store it in my house.

Well, unless it's something really big like furniture, you can't specify a day, let alone a time, so how do people know when to be in?

When I worked full-time, I had stuff delivered to my workplace. Now I take them for neighbours and they take them for me and it all works well.

I would say no to the postman if it's pissing you off.

I once took parcels in for an ex neighbour they then claimed that they didnt receive them cost me a great deal of problems I dont take parcels in for people now

Work at home so get a lot of this. It is annoying. Neighbors at my old house were cheeky af they even started putting it on the delivery notes to deliver straight to me and once questioned me as to why I wasn't in to take a parcel. Their face when I told them I was moving house was almost worth all the parcels.

Our neighbour works from home and takes our parcels in (non intentionally as we know she is actually working but despite putting "PLEASE DONT DELIVER TO NUMBER X" on all of them they still end up there!) and in return we look after her house (water garden, feed fish etc) when she goes away about 6 times a year...of it's a big problem then just refuse them otherwise it's just helping neighbors out and they can help you out if you ever need it

Just refuse them. I never order expecting a neighbour to take them in; I would rather arrange redelivery if I am not in, but I think postmen must be under pressure to get stuff delivered.

You can just say no. I often say I'm about to go out so won't be able to accept things. It's really annoying having people knock on the door to collect things.

I take parcels in for my neighbour fairly often. Dont think anything of it. If im in and they are not what's the issue? I am sure they would do the same for me. Plus she drops a homemade cake off every once in a while as a thank you.

But if it bothers you stop accepting the parcels. not very neighbourly though.

I too work ft, so I have my parcels delivered to work.

Just don't take them, they're taking the piss.

I always take parcels in as the postie and delivery people know I'm at home working. I've once refused a bed frame and mattress. but that's because it was massive.

Took in a box a few weeks ago and didn't check the address. Later realised it was for a house on my road, but I am number 4, and this parcel was for number 89...

If it's convenient I take them but if I'm going out or have a reason I don't want to be disturbed again later then I refuse. It's really that simple, you don't have to take them. My neighbour just took in my new pram and it was very good of them, saved me chasing it down later. But if they had refused I wouldn't have been cross.

If you say no, then eventually the delivery guys stop asking. Fair enough to take in the odd parcel but if your neighbour is taking the piss, it is perfectly okay to say no!

I order quite a bit online and don't remember ever getting the option to state the day let alone the time when it would be delivered. I'm always grateful if the odd parcel I miss goes to a neighbour, I'm equally happy to jump to the sorting office as well.

Don't answer the door or just say no. We have 2 sets of neighbours that I refuse to take in parcels for, I've had issues with them in the past. It's no big deal.

One of my neighbours used to order a lot from Next. Almost daily deliveries at one point.
She was hardly ever in. Quite a few of the neighbours started refusing to take the parcels after a while. I took some, but it was hard to get them to her as she was out so much.
Thankfully she has moved away now.

I think there is a balance isn't there.? The odd parcel now and again (maybe more at Xmas time) but sounds like OP - and a few others have been more than neighbourly. Id certainly have something to say if I wasn't Pre warned (asked) about accepting a large item or multiple items multiple times a week

The problem is not know when stuff will be delivered. We have amazon prime but because they use internal/external couriers you can never quite tell when during the day stuff will come. It's rare I will be at home 7-7.
