"We don't think the OP is genuine."

Thread about a deletion message, not a thread.

The OP was lying through their hairy teeth. Of course it wasn't genuine, why the pussyfooting around?

OP posts:
UserReuser · 24/02/2017 09:16

I'm doing well this morning, posted on both deleted threads

IamFriedSpam · 24/02/2017 09:17

Surely saying "We don't think OP is genuine" isn't pussy footing around. OP's a troll threads deleted.

AliceInUnderpants · 24/02/2017 09:18

Spam but why "We don't think...." rather than "The OP is not genuine"?

OP posts:
Trainspotting1984 · 24/02/2017 09:19

What do you want them to do?

Oh I forgot, it's mumsnet. Call hme police of course

WayfaringStranger · 24/02/2017 09:20

There's always a teeny tiny chance, I suppose, that one or two of these cases are genuine. Not sure if you remember the poster who was supposedly not genuine and then appeared on One Born Every Minute. I know, I know, it's a tiny chance but I suppose MNHQ are trying to be fair.

I guess they're professional and think it's better to word it in a diplomatic way.

Not sure what you are expecting them to do.

morningconstitutional2017 · 24/02/2017 09:39

The thing is, how can you tell and how can it be proved? Name changing I suppose helps but people hide behind a name on these matters.

BabyHamster · 24/02/2017 09:41

It would never occur to me to be bothered by this.

Coldilox · 24/02/2017 09:42

Which threads were these?

PuffinDodger · 24/02/2017 09:43

It's fine. They've deleted it

Blimey. Is this our weekly foot stamping "MNHQ aren't doing things exactly how I want them to!" pouting whinge?

PurpleDaisies · 24/02/2017 09:46

A few years ago a user got deleted (and possibly banned?) and later turned up on one born every minute with the same story that had been deemed to be fake. You can never be certain online what's real and what's fake.

Damselindestress · 24/02/2017 09:49

I think it's just a standard deletion message. Some cases will be more ambiguous than others so they are just being diplomatic. I'd be upset at the troll themselves, not the deletion message. I can't believe I got sucked into that thread about the dad altering his son's revision cards, I knew something didn't sound right.

WildBelle · 24/02/2017 09:51

I got a temporary ban for posting something that was 100% true. Just because something is out of your normal frame of reference doesn't (necessarily) mean it's not real.

'Social worker' is still claiming to be a social worker. If genuine, extremely worrying

RebootYourEngine · 24/02/2017 09:54

I did look at that deletion message and have a wee chuckle. Of course the OP wasnt genuine. They should have put a Hmm face at the end of the message.

RebootYourEngine · 24/02/2017 09:55

Damsel i thought that was genuine. But then again my troll radar is rubbish.

ShowMePotatoSalad · 24/02/2017 09:56

Userone1 what's worrying about that thread?

Userone1 · 24/02/2017 10:00

Showme OP started another thread claiming to be a working social worker, giving lots of details of a disabled girl and her family. Slagging them off. Claiming to have befriended them and ignoring the family social worker advice to her.

Fighterofthenightman · 24/02/2017 10:00

It's fine.

AquaLatte · 24/02/2017 10:02

I also got a ban for posting something which was 100% true.

I just re-registered under another name

UserReuser · 24/02/2017 10:06

I haven't actually been deleted but was called a troll a lot for something that was true, I avoided mumsnet for ages because of why... their main troll hunting evidence was that my dh couldn't have the job he did as people from his country came here unskilled with no work ethic. Not one person queried that. The other was our age, young parents

Trainspotting1984 · 24/02/2017 12:16

It's the Internet. You need to seriously consider everything you read on here is false. There are some very strange people out there
