But is Lidl hiking their prices?!

Local Lidl has had a refit and suddenly beetroot is £1.09!!

Also no prices on website.

Is this not really shortsighted? The whole point of Lidl/Aldi is they're cheap...😬

I think all supermarkets have risen prices recently, Lidl and Aldi have had to do that too but they're still cheaper than the main four.

I think you'll find that prices are going up in every shop. Lidl and Aldi will still be cheaper than the rest.

My OH commented on this the other day and he thinks prices in Lidl have gone up.

All supermarket's prices are going up, so in comparison Lidl will still be cheaper.

I was just saying to my DH that our normal weekly shop, has risen by about £12 or so.

Yep agree the Brexit effect but many items I specifically went ton Lidl for have gone up more than in the other supermarkets...e.g. avocados, beetroot

And, as I said, I'm sure they used to have prices on their website. I'm suspicious 😒

I realise I need to get a life but I definitely noticed that Lidl is def now not particularly cheaper arghhhh so sick of shopping around.

The prices in general have sky rocketed lately since brexit. My monthly big shop has increased by about £30 its only going to get worse

Our food shopping has risen recently, probably by about £10 a week.

Currency problems mean imports are now more expensive (Brexit effect, and we still haven't left yet).

All because Brexit is such a fabulous idea (not)!!

Lidl's smoked salmon has really shot up recently.

Lidl often don't show the prices of all the goods, and put unpriced more expensive versions next to the priced-up ones. I've been caught out a few times now and I think they do this on purpose.

Funnily enough I popped into Aldi for a few bits on the way home this eve and definitely noticed some prices had gone up. Well if Aldi and lidl are putting their prices up we can expect the other supermarkets to get even more expensive than they already are...

My friend and I noticed this with Aldi, to the point that she's started doing click and collect at Asda as the difference in price is now negligible. I've noticed prices have gone up everywhere but much more with Aldi and Lidl, perhaps 10-15 pence on nearly every item. I do think food prices have been exceptionally low for many years (when you look at them as a percentage of income) so they will increase significantly, expecially post-Brexit.

Yes my Lidl shop is usually between 30 and 45 pounds. This week it was 58 for no discernable reason.

All supermarkets have gone up. Lidl is a German company, although obviously all shop import from outside the U.K. The fall in the value of the £ means food is more expensive. Not sure why you thought budget supermarkets would be immune? They will still be cheaper than others, if not as cheap as they used to be

YANBU, but it's not just Lidl.

I've always found Aldi a bit cheaper than Lidl but the Lidl "experience" is nicer in my local town (they throw the shopping at you slower).

Have you tried doing a full weekly shop at Tesco recently? I'm pretty good at saving money, cooking from scratch etc., but seem unable to spend less than £90-£100 in Tesco now.

I think people are in for even more of a shock. We're an island. We import a huge amount. Leaving the EU means prices are going to go up and up. That was a good enough reason alone for staying in! It's not rocket science

Brexit isn't the only reason for it though. A lot of the places we get our fresh fruit and veg from have been hit by particularly poor weather for growing so there has been a huge shortage over the past few weeks. That's massively hit prices, far more so than Brexit.
