Surely the prince would have married Cinderella quicker and she'd have been saved the indignity of him admitting he couldn't remember what she looked like

BrownEyedLady · 18/02/2017 20:36

You know, I've never noticed before that he clearly didn't remember what she looked like!

ZigZagIntoTheBlue · 18/02/2017 20:36

I couldn't remember what my now husband looked like after our first 'encounter' in a club. To save face I got to pub for first date early and became 'engrossed' in something so he had to approach me!!! It worked out for us!

amysmummy12345 · 18/02/2017 20:37

I'm left bewildered tonight by the stupid bint that couldn't remember the simple words "stop little pot, stop!" Fucking porridge everywhere thanks to that dozy cow Grin

SprogletsMum · 18/02/2017 20:38

In the recent Cinderella film, the fairy godmother puts some sort of spell on her so that her step mother and step sisters don't recognise her so maybe that's why the Prince doesn't either.

creampinkrose · 18/02/2017 20:38

Yes, it's very strange.

I think he spent the night staring at her boobs.

BrownEyedLady · 18/02/2017 20:39

Maybe he'd had too many champagnes? I too have turned up for a second date (after a ONS) not 100% sure I'd recognise him...

acornsandnuts · 18/02/2017 20:40

She must have contoured on the night. Fake news.

RuggerHug · 18/02/2017 20:42

Met DH as a ONS. I had had many ciders and it was before I started wearing glasses. I thought he was the image of a famous man I thought was lush. Bumped into him the next night in a different pub. He approached me. He did not look like famous man.
I also blame the booze for the Princes confusion Grin

TamzinGrey · 18/02/2017 20:53

Blimey - It's never occurred to me before that he couldn't remember what she looked like. Also, he clearly had a weird foot fetish. There was no need for him to trudge around the whole kingdom getting ladies to try the slipper on, as C obviously lived locally.

MommaGee · 18/02/2017 20:56

Ahh I've spent years angry at him and it never occurred to me he was just piddled!! If MY Cinderella it would be a masked ball a la Labyrinth.

But why didn't she stay?? I know she was embarrassed but woman, be proud!! I'd love to see the look on the sisters faces at the ball as they realise.

Saw the ballet today, can you tell?

OP posts:
NeverTwerkNaked · 18/02/2017 21:05

Was it the Birmingham one? Beautiful ballet!

LucklessMonster · 18/02/2017 21:09

But why didn't she stay??

Her feet must have been fucking killing her. I'd have run away too after dancing in glass shoes.

Oreocrumbs · 18/02/2017 21:13

I always wonder just what size are Cinderella's feet? Because surely there must have been at least one other woman in the kingdom with the same shoe size..... I know loads of people with the same shoe size as me!

BrownEyedLady · 18/02/2017 21:14

Christ yes! Those shoes must have been torture!

MommaGee · 18/02/2017 21:20

Yes never matinee althp I want to be 5 and cry cos Cinders is meant to be BLONDE but she was great and the sisters so funny. I'd be the blonde one!!

Oreo I assume something tiny like a size 3 as everyone's feet were too big, none too small

OP posts:
viques · 18/02/2017 21:20

Her nails must have been in a right state what with all the housework, presumably the FG did a quick mani/pedi before the ball, but surely the ugly sisters would have noticed the nail job the next morning, and commented.

TheElephantofSurprise · 18/02/2017 21:20

Her feet must have been fucking killing her
That would be it. I've left places for that reason.

MommaGee · 18/02/2017 21:24

Never thought about that. Magic shower, spray tan, pedi and manicure plus frock - ypud think she could have managed comfy shoes

OP posts:
Hassled · 18/02/2017 21:30

She couldn't possibly have stayed - think of the poor little mice and whatnot (squirrels? dogs?) that were the horses/footmen - what would have happened to them miles from home? And it would have been a waste of a fine pumpkin that presumably was earmarked for pie.

NinjaLeprechaun · 18/02/2017 21:31

He didn't recognize her because it was a masquerade ball, her face would have been hidden. Any version of the story which leaves that part out is wrong.

MommaGee · 18/02/2017 21:36

In the movie or was it Into the Woods the pumpkin was wrecked and the creatures went into the hedgerow. So pumpkin would just be sat on the driveway bring eaten by the pets haha

OP posts:
creampinkrose · 18/02/2017 21:37

I still reckon he spent the night staring at her boobs Ninja Grin

PageStillNotFound404 · 18/02/2017 21:40

That's why I'm still slaving away...because I'm a fucking size 6 and some other lying cow nicked my glass slippers. Can never find any of the glittery little fuckers in the sales either.

ZippyNeedsFeeding · 18/02/2017 21:43

In the original fairy story (I think it was a traditional German one, but not sure) the slipper was fur, not glass. The glass slipper was a mis-translation.

PageStillNotFound404 · 18/02/2017 21:46

Well, they say that but I think it's just trying to hide the fact Cinders was really a hobbit.
