I have had a cold for 3 weeks! Yes, you did read it correctly -3 weeks!!!

Constant sneezing/sore throat/blocked nose/feeling not and cold and drained Sad

I'm so fed up of it! I have tried Sudafed, paracetamol, olbas oil, lozenges (and gin!) but it just won't goSad

I am a teacher so I have been off for half term this week and was really hoping I would recover for the next term but no such luckSad

A colleague also had it for two weeks - not sure if hers has gone yet.

Someone please tell me it will go soon - not sure how much longer I can deal with 30 teenagers at a time while full of a cold.

It will go soon. I hope you feel better.

Ahhh that us rubbish. I know how you feel.

I ended up with two weeks off school with the flu. It is still hard to teach a class of 30 when not 100 percent.

Rest when can, vitamins and don't let teaching take over your whole life.
I know easier said than done.

I've had this cold thing for over 4 weeks !
Started as a sore throat and sickness. Then became a cough which stopped after 3 weeks. Now I still have a snotty blocked nose and feel like rubbish.
I work in a school too like OP and thought during half term I'd be able to shake it off. But no it's still going.

🤧

Sorry to hear others are suffering as well Sad hopefully it will go soon - I'm looking forward to spring when the weather will hopefully be better as that might help!

That sounds horrible, I used to work in a school and was constantly riddled with colds and cold sores.

Not sure if any of the prevention tips would help? My diet's mainly vegetarian and I put onions and garlic in everything; I haven't had a cold for five years (supposedly nature's best antibiotics and antivirals). I also take antihistamines when I feel snuffly (and everyone in the office are coughing and spluttering) which seem to stop the cold in its tracks.

Can I recommend nasal irrigation? I had similar a while back and the doctor said it was likely sinusitis. She gave me an antihistamine spray and suggested nasal irrigation which both helped enormously.
