Get my back up before I even read the first paragraph.

My immediate reaction is "Yes, YABU".

So, AIBU?

Threads that don't explain what they are about in the title annoy me so.....

CantSleepClownsWillEatMe · 16/02/2017 20:44

Yanbu. Completely irrational I know but I'm immediately irritated when I see that. Also, posters who start their reply with "hmmm..." like they've properly pondered you know?

Some days I'm easily irritated to be fair Grin

Cynara · 16/02/2017 20:48

So, I just can't stand it. As soon as I see it I think "YABU" and no matter how reasonable, rational and coherent the rest of the post is, my mind is made up and I've already written it off. I'm aware of how unfair this is and try to overcome my prejudice, but I can't.

birdladyfromhomealone · 16/02/2017 20:56

I start mine with well!

CaoNiMa · 16/02/2017 21:23

Nothing's worse than "Discuss".

neverknowinglyunreasonable · 16/02/2017 21:26

When talking I often start my sentences with "So". When I notice it it makes me hate myself and now my kids have started doing it, it makes me hate myself a bit more.

Sittinginthesun · 16/02/2017 22:08

Glad it's not just me. Grin

It's fine. I like So....

Toooldtobearsed · 16/02/2017 22:14

So, you are all unreasonable viperw. Discuss.

Toooldtobearsed · 16/02/2017 22:15

So, i obs meant vipers. Sorry huns xx

ohgoshIdontknow · 16/02/2017 22:17

yeah millennial and annoying

PageStillNotFound404 · 16/02/2017 22:19

I know what you mean OP. It sounds a bit...over-rehearsed, as if the poster fancies themselves as a brilliant raconteur.

WorraLiberty · 16/02/2017 22:23

YANBU

It's not just threads though. It seems to be the 'new' way of talking. Especially in TV and radio interviews.

"Mr Brown, tell us about the charity you run".

"So, we run a children's center blah blah blah..."

Or "OK it's over to Anna for the weather report"

"So, tomorrow will be overcast"

Once you notice it, you can't stop noticing it and it drives me mad Grin

FizzySmile · 16/02/2017 22:34

Can't stand the Facebook posts that begin, "So this just happened...." accompanied by a photograph, usually of a child being a child i.e. walking, talking, eating, sleeping etc.

I have a FB relative who is particularly guilty of this, so much so, she has over 1000 photos of her children uploaded. "So this just happened...." Grrrr Angry

missbishi · 16/02/2017 22:42

Threads that end with "Thoughts?" are even worse.

WhyHasAllTheRumGone · 16/02/2017 22:44

So, threads are all started by Friends fans. No?

Greenfingeredfun · 16/02/2017 22:44

Just that really..

mintthins · 16/02/2017 22:45

DH knows that I am going to kill him really badly next time he starts a sentence with "So...".
