To take dd out of nursery until September?

Dd (2) started nursery just before Christmas. I started a new job which has now ended and I'm planning on going to uni in Sept to retrain.

She currently attends 2 half days a week but never seems keen on going. She is fine once she is there but I feel like I'm forcing her when theres no need (I'm at home).

Should I take her out and let her start again in Sept when I start uni?

It would be a great chance to spend more time together :)

Would you lose any fees?

I'd also suggest starting her before September so that she can be settled (and over the 'catch all the germs' phase) before you start.

Why would that be unreasonable? She is only little, you no longer need childcare - just take her out.

Will you easily get a place again to start in September or are there waiting lists etc?

Scarydinosaurs · 14/02/2017 17:52

I absolutely would. You can't get this time back. She's only 2 so it isn't like she's preparing for school yet! Do it!

I suppose I'm worried about confusing her by stopping and starting again in a few months. I think availability for September should be fine but I will check.

I'm going to do it. I want to spend as much time as possible with her before I'm all stressed with assignments etc.

I would do this.

Do it! Little ones change so quickly. Enjoy spending the extra time with her.

RandomMess · 14/02/2017 18:25

So long as you're not compromising getting a place take her out and make the most of it!!!

Nix32 · 14/02/2017 19:10

Definitely do it!

Aliveinwanderland · 14/02/2017 19:12

It depends... would her attended for just the two half days mean you could get housework and jobs done then which would mean the rest of the week could be quality time?

I think I would be tempted to leave her in with it only being 2 short sessions anyway and use that time to get things done that are difficult when she is around!

user1485102013 · 14/02/2017 20:19

Not really because by the time I've dropped her off and come home and sorted things it's almost time to pick her back up again. Wouldn't make much difference really.

I think by September she will be more ready for it Smile

Then yes take her out and enjoy the time with her!

Sweets101 · 14/02/2017 20:37

Yes I'd do it like a shot!

Caterina99 · 14/02/2017 21:16

Do it if it's what you want and you can get your space in September. I'm a sahm and the 2 mornings my DS goes to nursery are the only time I ever get any peace or get anything done. No way would I be stopping them unless we needed to. But if it's what you want then go for it!

SpookyPotato · 14/02/2017 21:57

Do it! Like people have said, you can't get this time back and she has many, many years of being in education.
