Tell me how do you make money, if you can't find a job? I used to find eBay good ,but with lack of dispute resolution and rise in con buyers it's stressful.

Why can't you find a job? What is your field?

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 05/02/2017 22:13

Why can't you find a job.
Because unfortunately there's no such thing as a job treeHmm.
I'm sure op is trying.

I specialised in Commercial law. Took a break after having DD. I can't even find an entry job in the field. I am not fussy and ready to take anything Confused

That's hard after the break.

I'd recommend a two pronged approach. If childcare is no issue then I'd suggest looking at even the lowest paid and lowest responsibility jobs. Alongside that, could you do some very deep soul searching about what is your 'life purpose'. Meditation and self honesty. If required, start retraining. Or if you are in your true field, and need to get your foot back in the door could you offer to work a little bit for free in return for mentoring or just being present in the right environment?

Baby spider I am aware there is no 'job tree'. What an odd thing to say.

I sell stuff full time on ebay- I make a very decent salary. I had intended going back to work after having kids, but I earn twice what I would have done in my old job.

SugarTips · 06/02/2017 06:53

Skerrywind - that's interesting, what do you sell?

skerrywind · 06/02/2017 07:00

I sell handmade craft items. I also sell them on Amazon and supply a few local shops.

Thank you everyone for your inputs. I have sent cv's around offering to work for free, no response. I have been to agencies specialising in Law recruitment but not much luck. Can anyone recommend a way into a law office/ firm. I don't mind, even if it just involves filing the paper work.
I feel very low , having worked so hard to get to a point but not being able to utilise my potential.
Apart of me is withering away gradually and all I can do is just watch ...

I worked in a specialised professional field.

Many people were trying for a way in- we often had many CVs/letters. The staff who were the decision makers were just too busy to recruit these folk... But it seemed people that essentially door knocked /rang up selling themselves asking for brief telephone contact...finding the best time to call and who exactly the decision maker is. And ringing in rather than wanting folk to ring back... Often jumped the queue and a few weeks later you'd see them around!

Only my experience, and to be honest, what I've done!
