To be utterly fucked off with the post office

Had to pop into my local town to do my biometric data for my passport, read that there may be queues, no promise or guidance on how long it should take.

So I pack my book ( which I'm really enjoying) get DP to drop me off on his way to get dog food and agree that when i finish up I'll call and see if he's gone home already, if so I'll catch the bus and maybe grab a sneaky coffee while waiting.

The bastards, they saw me in no time at all, I didn't even get to read one page of my book, the process was so efficient I was in and out in under 5 minutes! And the staff were all so polite and helpful. I ended having to loiter about for 10 minutes until DP was coming back.

I was so looking forward to some quiet time. Should I complain?

Well that sounds awful! They obviously didn't manage your expectations effectively and you therefore deserve compensation for the lack of anticipated alone time!
