The Carling Cup - why oh why have kick off at 15h?

I know they put the start back to 15h because of TV, but it is absolutely ridiculous when you have two teams from London playing. They must have realised that all 70,000 odd fans were going to leave Cardiff directly after the match to get back to London, resulting in massive delays. It took us 2.5 hours to drive 15 miles from Cardiff to Newport... We didn't get home until half past midnight and my dsc had to stay the night with us so dh had to run them down to their mum's at the crack of dawn this am. Other people just gave up and stayed in B&B's along the M4.

I don't see what difference kick-off time makes to those watching the match from the comfort of their armchairs. Why couldn't they show more consideration for the fans who actually went to the match and have kick-off at midday? Plus what is the cost to business of all those people not making it into work at all/late today?

what time would they have to get on the trains from london if it was a 12 o'clock kick off - not sure so just asking? when we were watching it they said there was alot of empty seats because of the trains - and thats at 3pm. also trains are so expensive people are probably forced to drive.

would it be a hassle to people whatever time it finished as they would all be coming back at the same time anyway.

tbh the people and money it brought into cardiff proabably outweigh everything else. its wont be there again now as wembleys is nearly ready.

dh and ds got back at around 10ish so not too bad

the trains were buggered - there were signal problems which meant people got delayed for hours on end

The Milennium is a fantastic stadium - we've been there a few times and always been impressed by it. The stewards have always been helpful and friendly and I love the way they split the town up (with half for one team and half for the other). The organisation is fab but I must admit, I'll be relieved when Wembley is back, just because of the journey element. I only hope they have looked at the Milennium stadium and learned how to do things.
