We are a young family of 4 and have £6000 on a credit card. We are managing it but I feel it weighs me down at times.

Are many others in this situation? Also, any advice for clearing debt/ways to reduce spending?

We have a fair bit but all manageable.

£3000 credit card
£14000 car finance
£600 sofa
£1000 loan

Still I wish it was paid though Blush

Just the mortgage.
Family of 4

No cc, loans. Bills paid as soon as they come in.

I went to town in my younger days and racked up 35k in debt, only told my hubbie when I couldn't hide it anymore. I'm now completely debt free after 5 years. The mse forums changed my life. I'll never have credit again as I don't trust myself but I can see others can be sensible.

£18k from IVF treatment. On 0% credit cards.

None. Just a ( nearly paid off) mortgage.

I wouldn't dream of buying a car at £14,000 if I had to put it on finance.

Exh left me with £25.000 worth of debt. I was stupid

Cherrysoup · 16/02/2017 21:55

Mortgages x 2, that's it.

Currently none - mortgage paid off and although we spend on a credit card, we pay off the balance each month.

But years ago I had the lot, personal loans, store cards etc. I hate to think how much interest I paid over the years. I wouldn't borrow now unless an absolute emergency.
