To be finding it very difficult to move on from lies told about me at work?

A while ago now, someone at work told a lie, which effectively ground my career to a halt.

I'm trying to move on from it but I felt just upset and confused for a while - now I feel angry and upset.

Has anyone managed to successfully move on from this?

Yes, I've moved on. At the time I was reprimanded for spreading a rumour (it was actually the truth) about two members of staff having an affair. One was married and the other was engaged.

I was completely floored when the manager called me in and told me off, as I'd done nothing.

I left soon after that and got an even better job. That manager didn't deserve me.

Some things in life happen that are grossly unfair and it hurts like hell. We do get over things though and we can move on. Good luck.

Has the lie been exposed? Do your colleagues know it's bollocks?

I ended up resigning, but bizarrely things then skyrocketed and got completely barmy. In theory there's nothing to stop me moving on except a bad reference, and confidence in absolute tatters.
