To want to drop and run at school?

My dd is 6 years old, in year one. The school got a new head teacher in September who implemented a new morning routine that I just can't get on with.
Old morning routine = Assemble in playgroup, bell gets rung, all children into lines, teacher leads into.classroom. Parents welcome to follow if children requests or they wish to speak with teacher.

New morning routine = Everyone assemble in classroom. Some mornings we have to choose a book and read with our children for 5/10 minutes other days it's 'Wakefield Up Shake Up' where we have to dance along to a bouncy routine! Then the tambourine rings and we kiss goodbye and leave.
Obviously I don't object to the interaction with my child but there's 30 pupils in the class, each with an adult and lots with a younger sibling or 2. It's too many people, it's too hot when we're dressed for the cold. It's a bloody faff!
Anyone else successfully challenged this sort of shit?

I imagine all the people on their way to work will already have said no, shrugged, and left their children at the door as before. And all the children coming from breakfast club, their parents won't be worried either.

Send an email saying you are not available, kiss your child at the school door and go.

What?? My DS's old school was like your old routine, worked a treat. New school lets all the parents into the classroom and cloakroom where they mill around and get in the way or can go watch their kids do Wake & Shake in the hall. Bollocks to that. DS1 takes himself to his cloakroom/classroom, I marshall DS2 into removing his coat, see him into the classroom, kiss and run.

I have been thinking of paying for breakfast club as a way to escape as that is the only way. Working parents do participate. We cannot leave until the precious tambourine has rung at 8.55.
Gives me an excuse to be late everyday. I really hoped it might die down after Christmas but it's not.

No ds2 goes to a s/n school so transport picks him up drops him off etc ,ds1 up untill yr 4 i waited uin the play ground with him untill doors open at 8.40 say bye ,love you and walk home now hes in yr 5 i drop him at the gate say bye, love you walk home !

That sounds incredibly stressful. You're all bundled up, so you have to take your coat off, get sorted, do the bullshit thing they want you to do for 10 minutes, interact with other parents, get your coat back on, get sorted, leave again, hot and annoyed. Sounds like my idea of hell. And add a younger sibling into the mix? OMG.

Jesus. That's a nightmare. What do working parents do? DS is at breakfast club from 8.10 (which he loves!!).

We used to e allowed to go in but they stopped it for child protection reasons and because there were too many special snowflake parents who just wanted a nosey in the classroom.

Drop off at 8.55 then. And just leave.

This will be another Ofsted tick box imo it's asking for trouble and an accident waiting to happen. I go into a school similar where there's multiple buggies in the hall ways, children getting knocked about and the heads response we are in an deprived area so we welcome parents in to show we are fully inclusive.

Oh come on they can't make you if you don't want to Just drop at the permitted time and go..? We go in for reading once a week but they can't force that!! You're a grown up and can say no... I doubt the teacher would be surprised.
