To have realised that in our house

... We have now totally replaced the word "fart" with "doing a Donald" (Trump)

It started as a (shit) joke, but now we find ourselves saying "has the baby just done a Donald?! Or was it the dog?" And "DP will you please not drop Donalds just before people are coming round?"

Of course I never do a Donald Grin

AIBU to hope this catches on, as a subversive way to express discomfort with the election of the new Pres across the pond?

We say the same in our house! Grin

My American niece thinks it's hilarious that the new President is named after an unpleasant bodily function! Grin

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 19/01/2017 16:53

It's not totally accurate.
Most of Donald's hot air comes from his mouth not his bum

DeleteOrDecay · 19/01/2017 16:54

That's amazingGrin I'm totally stealing this.

Slightlyperturbedowlagain · 19/01/2017 16:55

We do this too. My DS started it last year. I can't say that it honestly makes me feel any better about it but it makes the DCs split their sides Grin

TopBitchoftheWitches · 19/01/2017 16:58

Myself and dp have done this as well.

It's always more amusing when I have done a Donald, for some reason Grin

AristotlesTrousers · 19/01/2017 17:00

I'm definitely going to start doing this. Grin

harderandharder2breathe · 19/01/2017 17:02

Brilliant!

CigarsofthePharoahs · 19/01/2017 17:13

I think I will start doing this now.
I might even say "It wasn't me, it was Donald!"

ZippyNeedsFeeding · 19/01/2017 17:13

My husband is called Donald, so I don't think it would work in our house. He already gets grumbly and Trump calling himself The Donald and we are reminded often that he isn't THE donald, just A Donald and not the best one at that.

ZippyNeedsFeeding · 19/01/2017 17:14

Sorry, should say grumbly about...

Slightlyperturbedowlagain · 19/01/2017 17:14

zippy Grin

Bushymuffmum · 19/01/2017 17:18

So sick of everyone saying 'the donald' - where did it even come from? I blame John snow!

Letustryagain · 19/01/2017 17:19

Well I'm not sure where you are OP but we're in South Devon and my DD has started saying it (7yo) and all her class do. Let's spread the word!!! Grin

Bushymuffmum · 19/01/2017 17:20

And I think anyone who refuses to own up to doing the fart should be told they're 'doing a clinton'

Hushabyelullaby · 19/01/2017 17:21

yup, we say this too!

Hushabyelullaby · 19/01/2017 17:22

(and my 9 yr old does), we're iin N Wales

anonymousbird · 19/01/2017 17:30

Chris Evans was using this on his show this morning! DD and I did have to laugh!

HerOtherHalf · 19/01/2017 17:32

I think that is incredibly unfair to farts, they're not that offensive they should be compared to him.

MoreBushThanMoss · 19/01/2017 17:32

This is EXCELLENT . We split our time between London and Yorkshire... So that's two counties covered... tryagain has Devon, hush and her boy are spreading Donalds around N Wales... Can anyone else help make this "the thing"??

I'm calling points of view

stuckinny · 19/01/2017 17:34

This is brilliant. I'm going to see if I can get my son to start it.

SasBel · 19/01/2017 17:36

Sister announced (via whatsapp nach) that DN had done a trump in trumpington! Classy family I have Grin

starsorwater · 19/01/2017 17:44

Same, only they seem to be turning into Donalds.

enfru · 19/01/2017 17:48

We say it too! It was our 9 year old DS who started it, apparently everyone at school says it.
