To ask when to send invites out for child's party

We're doing a "proper" party for my son's fourth birthday on the 5th of March. We are inviting the children from his nursery class, and I was wondering when I should send invites out?

2-3 weeks before

SellFridges · 17/01/2017 19:44

Most here seem to do 3-4 weeks in advance. I prefer more notice tbh.

MrGrumpy01 · 17/01/2017 19:45

Ds I have done 2 weeks notice but o lay invited 4. I have given out dd's with 3 weeks notice. (Class party)

MrGrumpy01 · 17/01/2017 19:47

2 can't come to ds's but they both have things in their diary's that would have been there regardless of how much notice I gave.

livingthegoodlife · 17/01/2017 20:30

i would say about 3 weeks. long enough to plan ahead but not so far that people forget.

do you have a "RSVP by" date too?

MrGrumpy01 · 17/01/2017 20:40

Eek I forgot a RSVP date. Not that it makes any difference.

sjd84 · 17/01/2017 20:46

Thanks, I'll go for 3-4 weeks before. Didn't even think about RSVP, we need to confirm numbers with the venue 48 hours before, so I guess I'll put a day or so before that. Confused

Make sure you have time to chase those who don't RSVP before you confirm with the venue (it can take a while!).

Also expect about 95% of people not to RSVP but still turn up Hmm
