Rather than having a go at them on Twitter and describing them as second rate actresses. Hmm

Otherwise some people might just think you're a bit sensitive.

If that's how he's going to react when people call him out on things, he's going to have a very long 4 years in the White House

I saw the BBC report his name and CV.
I suppose, from a journalistic point of view, it reinforces the credibility of the reports. Did you read the context of the reports in the Guardian?
But, a former head of the CIA (I think) was saying in Sky News that the reports have errors as well as correct statements. According to him, the intelligence agencies would have been checking those reports.
His question was why they have presented a summary already to both Presidents (outgoing and incoming), apparently before they could verify what's to be trusted.
I imagine that they wanted to alert the current President before he leaves office. Or else it would be buried, of course.

InformalRoman · 11/01/2017 23:06

Obama and the Intel agencies must have felt it stood up enough to expel all those Russian diplomats though?

I suspect the guy's name is not the one he was born with.

lingle · 11/01/2017 23:10

"Trump accused of colluding with Russia for a number of years. Russia allegedly has compromising videos ideal for blackmail. Intel dossier (not verified claims) obtained and published by Buzzfeed."

Thank you. Can I read the accusations on a Buzzfeed website then?

Lweji · 11/01/2017 23:14

Different stuff.

These reports are about how Russia has blackmailed or bought US businessmen or officials.

Then, there's the IT evidence of email hacking and fake news created by the Russians to influence the election.

It's part of the same problem. But the first gives a reason for the second (other than that Trump is simply a very stupid, stupid man).

lljkk · 11/01/2017 23:14

New York times has the same story about salacious videos and too much contact with Russian govt. www.nytimes.com/2017/01/10/us/politics/donald-trump-russia-intelligence.html

Lweji · 11/01/2017 23:16

There was an earlier link to the reports, but here's a Buzzfeed story on it and the reports

lingle · 11/01/2017 23:23

So...

Some people say that Trump does kinky sex with Russians and relies on its intelligence to attack Hillary Clinton to win the election.

And it's possible Russia thought it could blackmail&ethos influence him.

But now it is all out anyway...

Ok.....

So everyone is saying that everyone else is in the blackmailing/discrediting business.

Am I getting there?

SwedishEdith · 11/01/2017 23:25

I hadn't realised/thought about it that Trump ran Miss Universe. That alone would have put me off.

Lweji · 11/01/2017 23:25

there's also the hacking

squishysquirmy · 11/01/2017 23:29

I'm quite sceptical about the dossier itself - it could be real, but most of the media outlets that published it have admitted that it is not and probably never will be verified. That said, I'd be very surprised if the Russians didn't have some dirt on him, and amazed if Trump has never used prostitutes.

Lweji · 11/01/2017 23:30

I hadn't realised/thought about it that Trump ran Miss Universe.

And he liked going backstage when they were between clothes too.

squoosh · 11/01/2017 23:31

I loved that in today's press conference he made sure to let us know how very successful the Miss Universe contest had been! Yeah, cos we had all been wondering about that most pressing of questions!

lingle · 11/01/2017 23:33

Does "dossier" have a specific meaning? Or is it just any collection of information?

illegitimateMortificadospawn · 11/01/2017 23:34

I found his pronunciation of "in(tumbleweed pause)DUST-ree" unsettling too. Is the Donald-bot starting to malfunction?

squishysquirmy · 11/01/2017 23:34

A collection of documents

lingle · 11/01/2017 23:36

It's like a word from the 1930s!

squishysquirmy · 11/01/2017 23:38

Oh, sorry lingle.

Megatherium · 11/01/2017 23:43

I don't believe any of this prostitute stuff. It's just too convenient.

No, convenient would have been for it to come out just before the election. In just the same way as the scandal-that-wasn't about Hillary Clinton's emails.

Riversleep · 11/01/2017 23:46

The only good thing I can think of to come out of the debacle that is President Trump is that I'll enjoy watching him being hounded and hounded and criticized and mocked over and over again by actors and newspaper and whoever the hell else fancies having a go, loudly and publicly. I hope it's the most miserable 4 years of his life, then he's thrown on the scrap heap in utter disgrace.

Lweji · 11/01/2017 23:49

Prostitutes is the least damaging of allegations regarding Trump, IMO.

There was the raping of an underage girl.
Sexual assault by several women.
His own claims of sexual assault.

RedToothBrush · 11/01/2017 23:54

Riversleep, do you think that will definitely happen? It might not. People might get scared or intimidated or give up on that when the crunch happens. The warning signs that that will happen are all there.

So everyone is saying that everyone else is in the blackmailing/discrediting business.

Am I getting there?

Nods slowly
Remember the first casualty of war is the truth.

This is why its so worrying what has happened today.

The fact we are even debating what the truth is, says it all.

BarackObamaLookingForAJob · 12/01/2017 00:08

What I think is important is that we all work together to build a better society built on hope and dreams.

Anyway, are there any jobs going as a cleaner or gardener? Could do with a bit more income.

UnGoogleable · 12/01/2017 00:11

Checking in and marking my place for this discussion.

Just watched the press conference. The contrast between that orange cuntweasel and the outgoing, eloquent, elegant, intelligent, thoughtful, gentle wonderful man that is President Obama could not be more stark.

I can't wait for Michelle to run for POTUS and knock that orange shit out of the white house, unless he gets impeached first.

squishysquirmy · 12/01/2017 00:11

Is that really you?
I can give you a job if you are flexible in what you accept as payment Barrack.

BarackObamaLookingForAJob · 12/01/2017 00:13

It is really me. I find regular job boards a bit crap. Why are you offering as payment? I will need to run it passed Michelle. Nothing saucy.
