Rather than having a go at them on Twitter and describing them as second rate actresses. Hmm

Otherwise some people might just think you're a bit sensitive.

If that's how he's going to react when people call him out on things, he's going to have a very long 4 years in the White House

From the eloquence of Obama to this petulant twit.

TaylorP1234 · 11/01/2017 17:11

Doesn't he have any advisors!! The president of one of the most powerful countries in the world using Twitter to retaliate against comments made about him!! SERIOUSLY!!!

Roussette · 11/01/2017 17:11

I know Number. I loved how Obama spoke. Slowly, measured, succinct. A great way about him and humble with it.

Lweji · 11/01/2017 17:11

Well done to him for getting the Inauguration date right. Grin

squishysquirmy · 11/01/2017 17:13

He takes credit for the RNC not being hacked because he said "make a strong hacking defence", as though it's that simple.

RedToothBrush · 11/01/2017 17:14

That last bit was really sinister.

No one has pinned anything on Trump yet. He also froze out a journalist.

Re: comments over Mexico. I think reading a transcript of what exactly he said is worthwhile. To paraphrase he said something about there being many ways to make Mexico pay and he also said that he thought that Mexico had taken advantage of the USA. And the USA should have been smart like them.

Just a reminder about impeding possible trade deals...

Lweji · 11/01/2017 17:14

Nazi Germany Intelligence allowed information to be leaked? And fake information?
Heads would have rolled. Literally.

Roussette · 11/01/2017 17:16

Hahaha... this is actually hilarious. If someone said it was an actor doing this, I'd believe them. Because it's so so bad. Russia's going to have much more respect for the US now he's leading it.

So he says.

Now on about Hilary again.

Russia, China, Japan and the whole world are going to respect the US now. Cos he's in charge. Right....

RedToothBrush · 11/01/2017 17:17

Oh and Trump did not like BBC guy.

Suzysuz · 11/01/2017 17:17

So he's just accused his own intelligence services of leaking?!

Suzysuz · 11/01/2017 17:18

in 8 yrs time Yeah right!!! Grin

squishysquirmy · 11/01/2017 17:18

Was the guy he shouted at from the BBC? I couldn't hear the journalists properly on the stream I was watching.

LouiseBrooks · 11/01/2017 17:19

BBC news Huw Edwards just said "well it's difficult to know what to say".

That's putting it mildly.

Lweji · 11/01/2017 17:20

And took credit for the RNC not being hacked. Sure. :)

He's still using " " speaking of intelligence.

amispartacus · 11/01/2017 17:20

One thing is - he's not Obama.

Suzysuz · 11/01/2017 17:21

Guy he refused questions was from BuzzFeed who published the Russia/golden shower document.
A chap from BBC World asked a question and Trump said something like oh another great news establishment in a very sarcy tone

derxa · 11/01/2017 17:21

The trouble is that I can remember what he said. I'm agog at what he said.
How often is that true of politicians.

SwedishEdith · 11/01/2017 17:22

"Was the guy he shouted at from the BBC? I couldn't hear the journalists properly on the stream I was watching."

CNN. But he did do a huffy little shrug re BBC as well, I thought. Oh, dear, that was bad.

cricketballs · 11/01/2017 17:22

I haven't commented on other threads re DT before but good god - he's a bloody lunatic! I am still shaking my head that he actually got elected and now he sounds even more deranged.

Lweji · 11/01/2017 17:24

I just don't get it.

The reports were "fake news" and never existed or actual reports that were leaked but had false information (or not)?
Because it's not the same thing...

RedToothBrush · 11/01/2017 17:25

He shouted at CNN guy I believe.

The BBC have said this today though (link to vid):
Alastair Reid ‏*@ajreid*
ICYMI: BBC correspondent says there's more than one source, more than one tape & more than one date of allegations in Trump intel dossier

Which seems to support CNN to a degree. The question BBC guy asked was shut down very fast and it was one of the few that seemed to bother him.

BBC might have a unique role here as the British State Broadcaster (although it technically isn't). Attacking the BBC is attack on Britain. Its more difficult for him to do diplomatically... Had not occurred to me previously that the British could be more of a thorn in his side than perhaps I thought previously. I'd be intrigued if anyone else agrees with me. I think its worth watching the footage back for the way he reacts.

RortyCrankle · 11/01/2017 17:26

When I first heard that he was going to stand for President I thought it was a huge joke, that he was a huge joke but once I started reading up on him and Clinton, she is a bigger warmonger, has very iffy dealings with several Middle East countries who have poured millions into the Clinton Foundation - basically pay to play which is a big no no for a President and various other dodgy activities. I wouldn't have voted for either of them. I think it's positive that he has shaken up the establishment, they were getting far too cosy and although I still think he has a screw loose, he hopefully has good people supporting him. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in the months ahead.

Personally I think the anti Trump (ditto anti Brexit) celebs are insignificant and should stick to whatever it is they do.

Dingalong referred upthread to JFK and his 'And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country'. I always thought 'who you can screw' rather than 'what you can do' would have been more appropriate in his case.

Lweji · 11/01/2017 17:28

There is also the big question of whether the RNC emails were hacked or not.
They say no, but initial reports at least said they were, but not released.

NumberOneTricky · 11/01/2017 17:28

Breitbart reporter asking what's to be done about fake news....

Ummm.

Lweji · 11/01/2017 17:28

Breitbart reporter asking what's to be done about fake news....

I don't know.
Shut down Breitbart?
